The Sunday HEAT Wave

Boy has it been a long past week for me. Just to keep it short, lots of personal problems that kept me off from doing HEAT last week. And to top it off, my cpu crashed early this morning. But I’m back and just want to say THANK YOU to all of those out there who took up my slack, backed me up, and showed their condolences and kept me strong in my time of need. I appreciate every one of you and can do nothing more than say “Thank you.” So it’s good to get back on the saddle so to speak and get things covered here in the waning days of Heat to get my mind off of things. But the time is almost here for Sunday Night Heat and my time re-capping the show for all of you as its coming to an end once October rolls around… and you know what they say; “All good things must eventually come to an end.” But they also say “When one door closes, another one opens!!” Ok, cheesy I know, but what can I say? I’m a sucker for the classics.

[RAW] John Cena vs. Kurt Angle and Tyson Tomko- Handicap match
You know how this goes, the heels get the beat down and the face eventually defies all odds to get the win. You know, I wish they would just try to shake things up a bit and try something different. But my cries are just one of many that are the same. Gotta say though, this feud has been nothing BUT Kurt Angle. The crowd turning for Kurt to win the title seems more and more likely.

WWE Title Match: Kurt Angle vs. John Cena (Champ)
MY Prediction: Winner; John Cena. This one is really hard to pick just because like I said earlier, Angle has been gold in this feud. And it wouldn’t be such a bad thing (despite how much I’m pulling for Cena to break through as a legitimate champ) if they give Kurt the belt. But my only reason to give this to Cena is so that they can stretch this one out just a bit more.

Steel Cage Match: Matt Hardy vs. Edge (review video)
MY Prediction: Winner; Matt Hardy. Ok I know I picked this one last time on Matt, but I think he finally has to get the win here in this feud to end it. I mean that’s the reason he came back to the fed right, to beat Edge? And Vince wouldn’t string Hardy back along just to lose or tie in every match from here on out right, right? Hmm, maybe I should change my pick on this one….

Quick Heat: Review of Stone Cold Steve Austin on the Bernie Mac Show. I’ve really liked this show, and since it’s on FOX, I’m surprised they haven’t cancelled this one yet. You see, they have this damn knack for canceling shows I seem to like on that channel. Sigh.

TRISH STRATUS IS BACK, SHE’S BACK!!!!! And the women’s division finally has some respectability back. Along with the new RAW Diva. Hmm, I can see something those two girls have in common, and it aint talent if you know what I mean.

Trish Stratus & Ashley vs. Victoria & Torrie Wilson w/ Candace Michelle
MY Prediction: Winner; Trish Stratus & Ashley. Simply cuz Trish is back and Ashley has been endlessly getting mopped in the ring. Let’s just hope we don’t get a replay of that Torrie/ Ashley match from RAW a while back ago.

Intercontinental Title Match: Ric Flair vs. Carlito (Champ)
MY Prediction: Winner; Carlito. The nature boy still doesn’t hold the IC title for one simple reason… swerve. I may be wrong, but there’s just something not right about this one, and no it isn’t because Shelton Benjamin isn’t in this match and winning it. But because… well I don’t know because, but I just have that feeling. Bare with me here.

Chris Masters vs. Shawn Michaels (Video Review)
MY Prediction: Winner; HBK. Damn, damn, damn!!! Why did things have to get to this? I’m pretty sure Shawn didn’t do anything to deserve this… the last time I checked, he let Hogan win, right? Masters has had wwaaayy to much attention and he should be grateful for that. But if he wins… you know I don’t even want to think about that.

Big Show vs. Snitsky
MY Prediction: Winner; Big Show. Not much to this match really- cliff note version: Fireworks, a few slaps, choke slam, 1-2-3.

World Tag Team Title Match: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs. The Hurricane & Rosey (Champs)
MY Prediction: Winner; Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. I’m just surprised they even made it on the show. Titles don’t mean much to begin with, plus the superhero team lost Stacy, nuff said.

Shelton Benjamin vs. Kerwin White
MY Prediction: Winner; Benjamin. Shelton my friend, you deserve much, much better. I feel your pain. And I’ll definitely feel your pain if they make you lay down in this match to make a feud out of this.

Tajiri vs. Rob Conway
It’s the MAIN EVENT… hmm, “event”, you know if used properly, that could be a catchy name for something. Ok, sorry, losing track here. Rob takes the early advantage and begins to over power Tajiri, using the usual knockdowns and power moves. However things go bad for Conway when he applies the sleeper as Tajiri fights out of it and takes momentum. Kicks followed by tarantula and goes up top but is nailed in the gut with Rob’s boot. The rest is academic as Conway gets the 3 count for the win.
Winner: Rob Conway

Heat Wave of the Night: I can’t say how much of a strong card this PPV is providing and how weak it really is. This can be something you can see over on a Monday night, but if somebody in one of these matches can step it up… it may prove me wrong. And hopefully my picks stay strong in this last HEAT PPV. And since this was just a re-cap show I get to give my wave of the night too… my teams, who are staying strong! [UTEP Miners- 44 Houston- 41 2OT], [USC Trojans-70 Arkansas-17]. Keep an eye on those Miners in C-USA, and Trojans, yeah we can say Three-Peat! I’m out guys, and just a lesson to be learned, trust me… no matter what happens, keep strong. Thanks. Peace.
