[RAW] Edge’s Money in the Bank is for WWE Title Shot

WWE.com has changed Edge’s profile page to read the following:

Recently at WrestleMania 21 in a “Money in the Bank” bout, Edge used this newfound tool to drive him in securing a WWE Heavyweight Championship Title match whenever he wishes.

Originally after WrestleMania 21, and continuing even after John Cena and Dave Batista (and their titles) switched between RAW and Smackdown, the bio page said that Edge’s MITB contract was for a “World Heavyweight Championship” shot. Also, on an episode of RAW around the time of the Draft Lottery, Christian teased Edge that he’d lose the title shot if he was drafted to Smackdown, since “the World Title is on RAW.” Yet once the titles switched brands, the issue was not directly addressed on TV until tonight, when RAW GM Eric Bischoff stated that Edge’s “WWE Title” contract would be on the line in a ladder match vs. Matt Hardy at RAW Homecoming on October 3. The loser of that match will also have to leave RAW.

A storyline way to explain the confusing Money in the Bank situation is that, simply, Christian was mistaken in his backstage taunting of Edge, and the title shot is good either (a) on whatever show Edge is on or (b) for whatever major title is currently on RAW.
