[SD] Tonight’s Smackdown Preview, Preemptions

The following is WWE.com’s official SD preview:

Last stop before No Mercy
October 7, 2005

Two weeks ago, a seemingly ill Eddie Guerrero stole Batista’s thunder during a match with MNM. Last week, Eddie struck again when he hit The Animal with a chair after their tag-team match with L.O.D. While it seemed like an accident, Eddie has a history of lying, cheating, and stealing. Just two days before their meeting for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy, they will be on opposite sides, as Batista, U.S. Champion Chris Benoit, and Rey Mysterio will meet JBL, Guerrero, and Christian in the Six-Man Tag Team Match that Eric Bischoff interrupted on RAW.
With their Handicap Casket Match against the Undertaker at No Mercy only days away, Randy Orton and father “Cowboy” Bob Orton will attempt to gain pay-per-view momentum this Friday night when they meet “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in a Handicap Match.

“The Rowdy One” didn’t take kindly to the RKO he received at WWE Homecoming, and the wily veteran is sure to have a few tricks up his sleeve to level the playing field on SmackDown. “Cowboy” Bob and Piper used to be good friends, but the elder Orton’s allegiances seem to be firmly in his son’s camp. Will Randy be able to kill another legend, or will the “Rowdy Scot” outwit the father and son duo?

Also this week, WWE Tag Team Champions L.O.D. will take on William Regal & Paul Burchill. Regal & Burchill have been a force to be reckoned with since pairing up; can the champions stop their momentum?

In addition, just two days before they both challenge Chris Benoit for the United States Championship at No Mercy, Booker T and Orlando Jordan will try to soften each other up when they go one on one this week. Will both men make it through to No Mercy at 100 percent?

Plus, Hardcore Holly will go one on one with Sylvan. On this week’s Byte This!, Mr. Kennedy accepted Holly’s challenge for a match with No Mercy; will General Manager Thedore Long have any more additions to No Mercy to announce?
Don’t miss all this and more this Friday night at 8/7 CT as Friday Night SmackDown makes its final stop before No Mercy.

Programming note – The Oct. 7 edition of Friday Night SmackDown will be preempted in the following area. Below is the time you can watch SmackDown:
