So everyone is pumped that the NHL season is finally underway, and i’m no exception. So this week i’ve been watching my Penguin’s games on the freepreview DirecTV’s Center Ice NHL package gave us. My Penguins suck again this season. What’s new? This Penguins fan site is awesome though, check it out.

Week 3.

– Impact Zone, Orlando Florida

– Hosts: Mike Tenay & Don West

– Opening Contest
– Monty Brown v. Mikey Batts & Jerelle Clark
Batts tries a springboard before Monty gets in the ring and Monty catches him and beats the hell out of him before tossing him back in. Clark tries punches but recieves a belly-to-belly suplex from Monty. POUNCE on Clark. Alpha bomb on Batts. Double pin gets the win.
Winner: Monty Brown

Post-match Brown tells us that no one will stop the Alpha Male on his quest to the NWA Heavyweight title. Cue out Lance Hoyt who says that Monty will never forget the name “Hoyt.”

Backstage Shane Douglas is surrouned by security. It is announced that The Naturals will defend the tag titles next week on Impact against American’s Most Wanted. Raven charges in and gets held back by the security. Larry Z wants him out, and the security does so, just like last week.

Break. Jushin Liger-Samoa Joe promo.

– David Young (w/ Simon Diamond) v. Matt Bentley (w/ Tracy)
Bently misses a clothseline to start but comes back with a spin kick. Punches by Bentley and he goes to the ropes where Simon Diamond trips him up. This allows Young to take him down and hit a backdrop. Bentley tries battling back with chops but Young gets an eye poke for 1. Bentley fights back with punches and hits a neckbreaker and brainbuster. Bentley up top, Picture Perfect Elbow hits. Diamond distracts but Bentley is able to get a flapjack. Superkick hits for the win.
Winner: Matt Bentley
*, mainly Bentley offense and they didn’t even let him do much X-division stuff.

Post-match Petey Williams attacked Bentley and hit the Candian Destoryer. Tracy came in and Petey kisses her, deserving him a slap to the face. He sets up to do the Destroyer on Tracy, but Sabin interupts it and Petey bails.

Break.

We see a promo by James Mitchell at a funeral home for Team 3D, with Jeff Jarrett, Team Canada, Monty Brown, Abyss and others in attendance. America’s Most Wanted takes the stand and say that they are aligned with Jeff Jarrett because of the money, the power, and to tell teams like Team 3D that they can’t come into TNA and take power. Mitchell says that they are all due back here the day after Bound for Glory for the funeral of Kevin Nash. That promo was not only f*cking genious but hilarious.

Break.

– Sabu v. Rhino
Sabu fires away to start but Rhino hits a clothseline. Sabu comes back with a spin kick and fires away in thec orhern. Whip to another corner and Sabu gets a springboard leg lariot. Sabu goes for a split legged moonsault but Rhino rolls out of the way. Rhino attacks with punches and comes off the ropes with a big knee. More punches by Rhino. Sabu retaliates by grabbing Rhino by the head and tossing him over the top rope. Simple enough, right? Sabu with a springboard flipping plancha. they both get steel chairs back inside, and both attempt chair shots but they collide with each other’s chairs. On the third attempt Rhino knocks Sabu’s out of his hand and hits a hard chair shot to Sabu’s head for 2. Rhino with another chair shot to the back and then pulles Sabu up to the second rope and attempts the Rhino Driver, but Sabu gets out, then climbs up top and hits a Super Canranna for 2. James Mitchell distracts Sabu allowing Rhino to hit the GORE on Sabu for the win.
Winner: Rhino
**3/4, good match with the spots by Sabu.

Post match sees Abyss try to attack Rhino but Rhino takes him down. Rhino tries to hit the GORE on Abyss but Abyss knocks him down with a BIG BOOT. Abyss gets out the bag of tacks, but Jeff Hardy comes out and clothselines him over the top. Rhino takes out Hardy, Sabu throws a chair at Rhino sending him outside. Standoff between all 4 men and they all attack each other in the middle of the ring and security break it up.

– Main Event
– Iron Man match (Daniels versus AJ Style’s 3 hand-picked opponants)

– 1. Christopher Daniels v. Shark Boy
Shark Boy slips out of the ring to start and forces Daniles to chase him, and when he goes out Sharky rolls back in. They play cat and mouse for a while into Sharky gets on the apron and skins his head on the top rope. Missile Dropkick by shark Boy gets 2. Sharky slams Daniel’s head into the turnbuckle twice but Daniels blocks a third. Shark Boy retaliates with a reverse neckbreaker. Sharky whips Daniels to the ropes but Daniels comes back with a kick and hits the Angel Wings for the win, and Shark Boy is eliminated after 1 1/2 minutes

– 2. Christopher daniels v. Sonjay Dutt
Daniels attacks Dutt as soon as he enters the ring but DDutt is able to fight back and get a drop toe hold and then springboard twisting elbow drop. Daniels comes back with chops and then elbows to Sonjay’s face. Daniels misses a clothseline and Dutt hits a headscissors. Dutt hits another headscissors taking Daniels outside. Daniels triers to get back in but Dutt hits a Missile Dropkick. Dutt hits an Asagi Moonsault to Daniels on the outside as we cut into the main event commercial break. As we come back Daniels fights out of a submission and hits a high knee lariot. Daniels stomps a mudhole in the corner and hits 3 powerbombs. Hard Irish whip to the corner sends Dutt down hurting. Daniels stomps the hurt back and then sends him back-first into the turnbuckle for a 2 count, then nails the pumphandle slam for a near fall. Chinlock applied by Daniels, but Dutt fights out. Daniels whips him to a corneer where he hits Dutt’s elbow on the charge. Dutt dodges a charge and Daniels hits the corner, then goes outside and gets a springboard hurricanranna. Back doby drop and clothseline by Dutt, and then he hooks Daniel’s hand and hits the springboard arm block Taker style. Dutt hits the dancing elbow for 2. Dutt tries to vault out of the corner but Daniels catches him, so Dutt counters to a Tornado DDT for a CLOSE 2 count. Dutt goes up top, the spinning moonsault misses and Daniels sends him intot he turnbuckle shoulder-first. Enzigiri by Daniels and then the Angel Wings gets the win and Sonjay is eliminated with around 3 minutes left.

– 3. Christopher Daniels v. AJ Styles
Styles picked himself as the last opponoent! Daniels runs around the ring to take time off the clock to start as it’s down to about 2 minutes. Daniels whips Styles into the steps and then barricade gate. Back inside Daniels sends Styles into the turnbuckle for 2. Powerbomb by Daniels gets 2 with 50 seconds to go. He sets up for the Angel Wings by Styles counters with a double leg takeodwen. Styles blocks an enzigir and they trade punches. Styles ducks a kick and clothselines Daniels down. Series of shouler blocks by Styles. Daniels back drops Styles onto the apron with 3 seconds left and Styles attempts to springboard in but trips on the top rope and falls. Styles says he will finish it at Iron Man II at Bound For Glory.
*1/4, but not really a fair assesment to rate since they were working with only a couple minutes before the clock ran out.

Really solid show this week, and i’m glad since the first 2 didn’t show as much promise. Awesome hilarious promo segment, good main event, Sabu, what more can you ask for?
