[WWE] The Rock: I Wanted to Retire Quietly

Archive

Recap of The Rock on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, according to Leck Intharath:

The Rock was on Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Power 106FM in Los Angeles, which is like the highest rated morning show on the radio in LA. He was on there promoting his new movie “Doom”. He said that he wanted to keep the movie loyal to the game because there are tons of fans out there of the game and wanted to do it right. There will be some first person view scenes, like there was in the video game.

The Rock says that he would like to do more different types of roles, not just action, like comedies and dramas. He always likes to challenge himself. He jokes about Halloween coming up and says that sometimes he overshadows his daughter when they go trick or treating, saying that after they give her the candy, they would then move on to the Rock.

Luscious Liz, one of the personalities on the show, joked and asked if the Rock wore his wrestling tights, boots, and elbow pad out as his costume. The Rock also mentions that at his house in his office that he has copies of the 4 belts he’s held, (Both WWE World Title, Tag team, and intercontiential). The Rock briefly talked about his wrestling career, that he wanted to retire quietly. He didn’t want to make a big deal about it like some other wrestlers had who make a big deal about it, and then come back like 2 months later. They also briefly mention the “pop” the Rock gets every time he makes a comeback and pretty much says that the people will always cheer the Rock if and when he makes any wrestling appearance. I’d like to note that he didn’t mention WWE by name, specifically.

Power 106 does a lot of promotion for the WWE, HHH has been on there in the past, during Wrestlemania 21, they were a part of the Bagels and Bodyslams breakfast that Friday. Especially Big Boy’s Neighborhood, they are big wrestling fans in general.
