Looking Ahead

Hello there, and welcome to the second edition of ‘Looking Ahead’, a new weekly column here on this great web site known as Inside Pulse.

The main bulk of this column will be focusing on the nearest WWE Pay Per Views, with all the latest news, rumours, match line ups, etc along with any other information I can lay my hands on.

This week, I bring you the latest card for Taboo Tuesday, Taboo Tuesday rumours, news, some Survivor Series news, and some other stuff.

Enjoy”¦

Why WWE? Why not TNA or ROH?

“Why not look ahead to a TNA or ROH Pay Per View?” I hear you cry. Well, I’ll tell you.

The WWE PPV’s are easier to get hold off in the U.K. for a start. Most WWE PPV’s are broadcast for free on Sky Television, where as both TNA and ROH PPV’s are shown a few months behind schedule, so there’s not much point in focusing on them.

Latest News / Rumors

On a recent radio interview, Mick Foley said fans will be voting on which persona he should represent: Dude Love, Mankind or Cactus Jack.

This is something I’d never have thought would happen, yet here we are with a very good idea which would make this PPV pretty memorable. Who should Foley come out as? The deranged Mankind? The crazy Cactus Jack? Or how about the coolest cat of them all, Dude Love?

Notice anything I just wrote there? About being ‘Cool’? There’s my pick on who will win if the ‘E fixes the outcome.

And I have a good reason why they will. How many casual fans do you think are watching the WWE? I assume the WWE thinks a lot. I couldn’t care less, as I don’t give a shit about ratings, etc.

However, how many casual fans will remember who the f*ck Dude Love is? I’m betting not many. That’s why I’m leaning towards Dude Love winning the poll, because why would they give us these particular options of they weren’t going to do something about the ‘cool’ factor?

You could argue why would the WWE fix it for Dude Love to win, if he’s not known that well by casual fans? You could also argue how many casual fans will go out of their way to watch and buy a PPV that is on a Tuesday?

Email me with your opinions, whatever you think.

Just remember that Foley has been recorded as saying that he’ll only do a match if the paydays good, or the situation feels right. By that I think he means take some hard bumps, go mental, etc. And I just don’t see him a) taking those type of risks for Carlito, when he doesn’t need them, and b) why would the WWE waste their money getting Foley to take huge bumps and shit when it’s not a major PPV?

So that’s both Mankind & Cactus Jack out of the window, which leaves us with the DUDE”¦ my pick for the winner of the poll.

Edge & Chris Masters’ invasion of SmackDown has led to an unprecedented fan-driven match at Taboo Tuesday, as agreed upon by both General Managers Eric Bischoff and Theodore Long.
WWE’s fans will decide which two SmackDown Superstars Edge and “The Masterpiece” will face on Nov. 1. It’ll be some combination of Rey Mysterio, JBL, Matt Hardy, Christian and Hardcore Holly.

Why the f*ck is Hardcore Holly in there? Anyhoo”¦ This just upped my interest in the PPV considerably. If Mysterio & JBL get chosen, will they be able to co-exist even though they’re both currently in the beginnings of a feud with each other? Also, why the f*ck is Hardcore Holly in there?

If Matt Hardy & Christian are the two Superstars chosen to team up, will they tease a feud with each other? Is that why Hardy’s appearance on the Peep Show was rubbed out?

Lots of interesting scenarios and questions, which is why I’m starting to get into this PPV.

Seriously though”¦

Why Hardcore Holly?

Why?

The Score

Looking Ahead PPV Score: 6/10

On paper, it looks like it might be a pretty solid and entertaining PPV, especially with the possibilities of seeing Flair vs. HHH inside a Steel Cage, and Carlito vs. Mankind, Cactus Jack or Dude Love.

PPV Predictions

WWE Championship Match
John Cena (c) vs. Kurt Angle vs. HBK

I’m predicting that HBK will get the most votes, as he’s without a doubt far more over than either Kane or Big Show. As for the winner, there’s no way Cena will drop the strap to Angle, not when Survivor Series is coming up soon.

Winner: John Cena

Edge & Chris Masters vs. Christian & Matt Hardy

Personally, I’d like to see Christian and Matt Hardy get the votes. That would be an interesting tandem. That, plus the fact that JBL, Holly & Mysterio would still have to be in the arena, which could lead to JBL & Mysterio interfering and costing Edge & Masters the match. Then a few others from Raw could run down, one thing leads to another, and you end up with 4 people from Smackdown and 4 people from Raw having a lovely brawl, which would lead us nicely into the traditional 5 vs. 5 match at Survivor Series which we’ve heard about.

Winners: Christian & Matt Hardy

Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch (c) vs. Kane & The Big Show

With neither Kane nor The Big Show having anything to do lately, this may lead to a short lived run of a Kane & Big Show Tag Team feud against Murdoch & Cade. They wouldn’t win though.

Winners: Cade & Murdoch (by cheating)

Ric Flair vs. Triple H

STEEL CAGE MATCH PWEEEEESE!

Winner: Triple H (because it’s not for the IC title)

‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin vs. Jonathan Coachman

The Coach will pick up the win here, probably thanks to a McMahon interference.

Winner: The Coach

Carlito vs. Dude Love

Dude Love to win the voting, then halfway through Carlito will rip his shirt, we’ll see a Cactus Jack T-Shirt on underneath, then Foley will go ape shit and morph into Cactus Jack and beat the living snot out of Carlito.

That would rule, however I’m leaning towards a Carlito victory.

Winner: Carlito

Fulfill Your Fantasy Diva Battle Royal for the WWE Women’s Title
Trish (c) vs. Micke James vs. Maria vs. Torrie Wilson vs. Ashley vs. Candice vs. Victoria
Stipulation: Choose Clothes for Divas (Lingerie, Leather & Lace, Cheerleader)

Good = Eye Candy
Bad = Anybody other than Trish, Mike & Victoria trying to wrestle.

Winner: Micke James (a fluke somehow)
