[MISC] JAPW’s MySpace Poll

Archive

A few weeks ago, “friends” of Jersey All Pro Wrestling’s MySpace account received a MySpace message stating JAPW was asking for people, to quote their blog post, to “Please post a link of the Wrestler(s) website here on MySpace that you would like to see Wrestle for JAPW on Saturday Night Nov 12, 2005 in Rahway, NJ.”

Why could this vote mean so much? JAPW is one of the few promotions having technology work for them & allowing their fans to give some direct input on their product.

At the time of writing, 160 “votes” have been posted so far with Lucky in the lead with 40, followed by Joey Ryan with 39, “Passion” John Thorne with 19, “Phenom” Phil Stamper with 13, & Human Tornado with six.

About JAPW, New Jersey’s own Lucky added, “I think it’s a solid promotion with a lot of great talent.” Lucky’s name has been popping up recently on shows in Canada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, & West Virginia. “I will die for you, if you cheer for me.” Discussing his first place results so far, Lucky questioned “Has anybody voted for Claudio Castagnoli yet? Double C = ratings.”

California’s “Technical Wizard” Joey Ryan might not be a stranger to many fans, “No matter how sweaty I look in the ring, I always smell nice. That and I love Lance Storm & Brad Armstrong, so I may steal a few things from them. But it’s cool, because they are retired & I’m allowed to.” In regards to his popularity on the poll, Ryan added, “Like most Americans, I was surfing MySpace & came across a bulletin for it during one of the 12 hours a day I spend on this site. Then I posted a bulletin on MySpace for people to vote for me, & since I have a ridiculous number of ‘friends’ on my list, I got a few votes.”

Could some of the possible incoming talent be influencing the vote in their favor? Maybe, but it is a great way for JAPW to consider more people out there; perhaps even someone not yet on their radar who could be an amazing breakout.

“I would love to work for JAPW, if not on the 12th, but in the near future. I’ve checked out some tapes of their shows & it seems like fun. Hopefully if I’m in second they could have me face the winner,” said Human Tornado. He’d also like to remind everyone, “2006 is gonna be the year of the brotha!”

A smorgasbord of talent from sea (New Jersey & Maryland) to sea (Hawaii & California) that would bring a gleeful smile to many have been mentioned by fans in the U.S. and abroad. Some were brought up by themselves as, in the words of Joey Image, “Because no one else voted for me LOL.”

Many others have been mentioned, including Twiggy & JC Ryder with three; Joey Image, Josh Prohibition, CJ O’Doyle, “Big Cat” Joe Leemer, Jaysin Rush, & JJ Perez with two; & many more with one vote, including Joey Blackjack, Slyck Wagner Brown, Cheech, Cloudy, Deviant, Jodie Fleish, Grimace, Drew Gulack, Shayne Hawke, Kaniala, Messiah, Danny Rage, Greg Matthews, Player Uno, RCG, Shawn Riddick, Nick Sabre, Pinkie Sanchez, Shark Boy, Greg Spitz, Super Mark, “Sweet N’ Sour” Larry Sweeney, Topgun, & ToXiK

So far, JAPW has only announced the return of Quiet Storm on November 12th at the Rahway Rec Center in Rahway, NJ. Will one of those names mentioned also be added to JAPW’s “Fall Out”? There’s plenty of time left to tell.
