Episode 2.08: Let It Be
Airdate: November 13, 2005
A young woman who was friendly with the Shepherds in New York arrives in Seattle and asks Addison to remove her uterus because she’s at risk for cancer. But her husband objects because he wants children. And a hospital window washer survives a five-story fall (though the bird he landed on didn’t), then begs George and Meredith to find his ex-girlfriend. Elsewhere, Meredith keeps running into Derek; Cristina gets dressed up for a date with Bruke; and Bailey complains of being tired.
Derek and Addison Shepherd’s professional relationship is challenged when their closest friends come to Seattle Grace seeking a radical, preemptive operation to avoid breast and ovarian cancer. Meanwhile, George can’t understand why a patient who fell five stories doesn’t seem happy to have survived; an elderly gentleman makes a difficult decision upon learning that his wife has only a few months to live; Chief Webber is disappointed by Bailey’s fellowship decision — until he learns her reasons.
Meredith tries her best to avoid Derek and Addison. A body drops from the sky and lands behind George who’s outside the hospital. Cristina and Burke go out on a test date. While at a restaurant, they help a man who has terrible pains. Izzie helps Addison and Derek on a case. Derek butts heads with a patient who doesn’t act properly towards his wife. Alex treats an odd old couple that can’t stop talking about monogamous animals. Bailey helps Alex on this case when things get thougher.
Guest starring are Kate Walsh as Addison Shepherd, Shelley Berman as Jed, Joseph Lyle Taylor as Weiss, Arija Bareikis as Savannah, Brittany Ishibashi as Talia, Geoffrey Rivas as Stu and Janet Rotblatt as Esme.
