We’re well into the week and hockey (the topic of my IP Sports column) hasn’t been on my mind much since Sunday and the loss of Eddy Guerrero still hasn’t fully sunk in. Extroverted outcries have never been the way to go for me but I’ve been a part of the IWC for almost 10 years now and in that time there’s been just about everything one could see. Anti-this and anti-that websites, internet feuds, internet personality/wrestler feuds but not since the passing of Owen Hart has there been this sort of union amongst all of us somehow involved with the internet. Throughout all these years online, I’ve just watched from the sidelines. I’ve participated on a very minimal level as writers and recappers and wrestlers came and went. This time, though, the positive energy that has been put forth by everyone who watched and loved Eddy’s work has been astounding and I can say that I’m proud to have been able to witness it. I’m proud of the way the IWC has handled this and how many of it’s contingent have stood up for what Eddy was about and for what Eddy meant to them. It’s been a difficult week and it won’t get any easier but it’s good to know that plenty of people care.
R.I.P. Mr. Guerrero and thank you IWC
