Everyone has dealt with the premature death of one of their favourite TV shows. Sometimes the show ends because a cast member leaves or dies, sometimes ratings are low and the show gets cancelled. For whatever reason losing a show you have become attached to can be great loss.
Back when the original Star Trek was cancelled fans of the show protested and demanded the show be put back on the air, forcing NBC to put it back on the air. Since that time fans have copied that formula to try and revive their favourite shows, best modern examples are Family Guy (DVD sales being the big factor), Firefly (heck they made a movie out of it) and Arrested Development, whose fate is still in limbo.
