ByteThis! Report

Hosted by: Tazz and Michael Cole
Special Guest: Booker T
12-14-05

Been a pretty quiet week in the wrestling biz, as we head towards Armageddon this Sunday live on PPV. I told you Tuesday I was planning on doing some predictions for the show and here they are, short and sweet:

Batista and Rey over Show and Kane and maybe they’ll end up unifying the Tag Team titles to give the match a little bit more importance.

Taker will demolish Randy Orton inside the ominous Hell in the Cell.

MNM will go over Psychosis and Super Crazy.

Kid Kash will win the Cruiserweight strap from Juvi.

JBL will go over Matt Hardy, because Smackdown is desperately in need of strong heels and JBL’s the best bet.

Chris Benoit will defeat Booker T to keep the Best of Seven series going into 2006.

I’m not ordering the show, as I said before it’s just not worth it for me this month.

ByteThis on the other hand is free and was really interesting this week to watch, so let’s get to it!

Michael Cole and Tazz are the hosts this week. They say that they’re here because no one else would do the show. Todd Grisham couldn’t be found. They couldn’t get the Coach out of bed and said Lawler doesn’t do these type of shows.

Tazz says that Smackdown is no longer the B show. Cole says that is still the perception of the company though.

Tazz comments that maybe The Grish wasn’t able to make it because he was too busy. Cole thinks he had a hot date with Mark Lloyd.

A quick preview of Raw from Afghanistan coming up this Monday. Hunter versus Shawn in a Boot Camp match and lots more!

Clips from the Armageddon press conference.

Tazz and Cole play with a ECW Taz action figure. The toy jobs to Triple H too.

Commericals ensue.

Booker T joins the show. He is in Houston helping to train students at the wrestling academy he and Stevie Ray run. The rain was coming down bad when Booker flew into Texas and his plane had to land in Austin, instead of Houston. The poor guy had to drive all the way home. You’d think that being a professional wrestler, he might be sorta used to driving long distances?

A caller asks Booker about him becoming an announcer in the future. Booker says he doesn’t want to become an announcer, it’s the establishment that wants him to become one. He says he makes the wrestlers look like the greatest things since sliced bread and that he would do a way better job than Michael Cole. Tazz agreed that Cole was a scuttlebutt.

Tazz is setting up the new WWE DVD board game throughout most of this and is actually being quite funny while saying very little and letting Booker just ramble on like he’s so good at doing. I love Booker T though, he’s one the most consistantly awesome pieces of talent ever. Which his wife obviously believes too:

Sharmell chimes in and calls Booker the Greatest Wrestler and Husband in the world. Booker says he’s going after Batista and the World title after he’s through with Benoit.

Booker’s favorite matches were the Best of 7 series from WCW that he did with Benoit back during the Nitro era. He said that Benoit put him on the map as a viable singles competitor, which is pretty true.

He also puts over Stevie Ray and said that he is hanging out in Houston and helping to raise the young talents.

They screw off a little more and Booker keeps putting himself over, but that’s sort of his job. And off to more commercials.

After the break Cole and Tazz talk about the big trip overseas last week and how they did it for the troops. He puts over Rita Cosby from MSNBC’s Live and Direct and says she went from being in Afghanistan with the WWE to going to Florida to witness an execution. Cole said back when he was in the news business he witnessed an execution also and said it was weird.

From morbid death to Joey Styles. Cole and Tazz agree that announcing Raw is his dream job. Hell, it’s my f*cking dream job too!

Mouthpiece Cole decides it time give away some prizes. It’s going to be the John Cena DVD, which can now be found in the $5 Clearance rack at your local supermarket and the Royal Rumble DVD. Tazz stars putting away the DVD game, which looks fun. It’s a great way to kill time while the Bookerman is talking I guess.

The trivia is to identify some dude who is dressed like Will Ferrell in the movie Elf.

Chat room question asks what Tazz’s favorite match was. Tazz answers that among his favorites were him against Sabu at ECW Barely Legal, and his matches with Bigelow that turned him into a legit star.

Chatroom asks what Tazz thinks about the Boogeyman. Tazz answers that he thinks the Boogeyman is one of the most entertaining guys to ever join the company.

Tazz says he’d make a good GM for Raw. Damn, see after all this Brand warfare, Tazz is ready at the drop of a dime to jump sides!

Cole and Tazz say that their voices are hoarse right now because they’ve been doing commentary for a video game that will be released around 2008. Cole then says that the E just repeats the same storylines every six months.

Cole’s favorite match to provide commentary for was McMahon vs. Hogan from Wrestlemania 19.

Tazz and a caller from Missouri talk about weather while Cole feigns falling asleep on the desk from boredom.

Cole walka away from the set and appears to be up to something, but Tazz continues talking to the caller. While Cole is disposed, Tazz takes another call and the callers wants to know who Tazz would like to face and what kind of match it would be if were to ever make an in-ring return. Tazz nameschecks his real life best buddy, Kurt Angle. Cole comes back into camera view and he’s wearing a John Cena hat backwards, a Hurricane cape on his shoulders and some leis around his neck. He then puts a HBK bobblehead on his desk and a plush Rey Jr. doll on Tazz’s head, which Tazz chucked to the ground.

A caller asks if Cole is scared of the Undertaker and the Boogeyman. Cole says no and we move on.

Cole and Tazz discuss how the Coach sucks as a color commentator, and that he shouldn’t be a part of a three man team with Lawler and Styles.

That was pretty much the end of the show. A bit of a hard sell for the Armageddon PPV and we’re out!

The show was very fun, this week, a welcome change from the week to week we’ve been getting from the Grish!

Don’t forget to catch Smackdown! tonight featuring the title change bwtween MNM and Batista and Rey plus lots more build up for the PPV. And then Impact on Saturday night will feature another great Samoa Joe squash match.

I’ll be back on Tuesday with my POV on the Armageddon show and of course, Raw, which is on tape from the middle of nowhere. Until then, you can all BYTE me!
