I’m going to come out and say it right now, I don’t have any Beastie Boys albums besides this one, so I can’t compare it to any of the true studio releases. This is the Beastie Boys greatest hits album. Covering every Beastie Boys song I’ve ever heard so it’s certainly complete enough for me. I’m not sure what else has to be said, at this point you know if you like the Beastie’s or not.
Positives:
Very complete set of songs. It’s the Beastie Boys! Every single song on here is fantastic.
Negatives:
Unlike most Greatest Hits albums there aren’t any new songs. No reason to buy this if you already have the other albums.
Cross-breed:
The Beastie Boys at this point are the kind of band that other people sound like.
Reason to buy:
If you’re not a huge Beastie Boys fan but like their singles this is a must have.
