[TNA] Updates on Samoa Joe, X Division Tag Titles, Plus More

Archive

To update some of the TNA stories reported here yesterday:

– Samoa Joe has been renegotiating his contract since when he originally signed a one-year deal with TNA, he was told that if his run was working, he’d get a riase. With TNA rumored to be dragging their heels, and WWE interested if, according to PWInsider.com sources, “he was free and clear,” plus Sting coming in at big money, this should be an interesting story in the new year.

– Mike Tenay is the man behind the scenes who has been proposing an X Division tag title, reportedly nixed by Jeff Jarrett. No new titles will likely be added as long as TNA only has one hour per week on Spike TV.

Additionally, on last night’s ByteThis! (we’ll have a report up soon), TNA fans got on the phone with WWE’s Todd Grisham, saying TNA was better than WWE, then getting cut off by Todd.

Finally, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Hiroshi Tanahashi will be coming to TNA and facing AJ Styles on Final Resolution, January 15. He is a huge up and coming star in NJPW.
