The Weekly Pulse: TV's Second Wife

Archive

I hope everyone had a good Chrismukkah!! I racked up the presents this year as I got double the presents with my graduation from college being two weeks before! AWESOME!

It’s the end of the world as we know it! At least it’s the end of 2005! What a drama-filled year this has been for me? Whoa! Made me start to think about writing a book. So many characters and stories to tell..so little time. The sad thing is that 2006 looks to be even better and more drama-filled. And you know what..that trend is the same for television in my opinion. There were some great TV shows to watch this Fall. Shows like ‘Everybody Hates Chris’, ‘My Name is Earl’, and ‘How I Met Your Mother’ were all fun to watch NEW TV shows. You had old favorites like ‘The O.C.’ that seem to be just as good as past years. And, of course, reliable reality shows like ‘Apprentice’, ‘The Amazing Race’, and ‘Survivor’ that were just as good as past years as well.

2006 looks to be shaping up really well as far as TV goes. ’24’ and ‘American Idol’ return for FOX. That should be talked about a lot. All your favorite shows from this fall return as well with new episodes. And, of course, we have those new mid-season replacements shows. Will they be any good? Who knows..but it will be fun to find out!

Alright..time to end this year with a bang! Actually..it’s more like a crackle as nothing new has aired on TV this week except for the ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge’. So yeah..not a whole lot going on this week, but the show must go on! So lets get this Day Before New Year’s Eve Party started!!

Seinfeld Quote of the Week

“David..I’m going to hell! The worst place in the world! With devils and those caves and the ragged clothing! And the heat! My god..the heat! I mean what do you think about all of that?”Elaine

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Columns a.k.a. The Light Edition III

Mathan Erhardt says two hour events SUCK when they are just two episodes slapped together! He comments on anything that is new to him. That includes the shows ‘Sleeper Cell’, ‘Reunion’, ‘Smallville’, ‘Everybody Hates Chris’, ‘The Boondocks’, and ‘NY Lon’. Also, ‘Nip/Tuck’ is the worst show EVER according to him! Find out why! Oh..he has a thing for Bea Arthur as well. Hmmm….

Dora Malone talks ‘Survivor’ for the last time! She dissects what happened in the finale and somehow that has to do with keys! If she says so. Go now!

DeeDee has nothing to watch on Tuesday nights after sharing her thoughts on the season finale of ‘Nip/Tuck’.

Kevin Wong lied last week as he is back this week for one last column for 2005. Happy belated birthday to Kevin, by the way. In this column, he tells you what you can expect to see from him in 2006. So if you want to know that..go ahead and click the link. And really..if you have read his stuff from the rest of the year, then you might as well read his SECOND Last column of 2005!

Recaps a.k.a. The Light III Sequel: Light With a Vengence!!

I may be the only one with an active show to recap this time of year. So I may be your sole voice of reason. Deal with it, while you read the newest recap of the ‘Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet II’!

This week we had 3 DVD reviews!

Scott Keith has the final season of Friends. It’s an end of an era for Scott as well. Bring your tissues!

Tom Pandich used to be friends with MacGyver. So it was easy for him to review MacGyver – Season Four!

Since nothing was on TV this week, I had time to review Seinfeld – Season Four. Seasons Five and Six will be up in the next few weeks!

Celebrities and Spoilers and E-Cards a.k.a. How About That?!?!

We have something to put here this week..thanks to former ‘Apprentice’ Erin. She comments on the season four finale of ‘Apprentice’.

And what about Nick, another former ‘Apprentice’? He is back for the last time to give his thoughts on the finale!

SPOILERS!! And it’s a good one for ‘Survivor’ fans! You want to know who will last until the end of the NEXT ‘Survivor’?!?! You can if you click the link! You have been warned!

It may be a little late, but I think you can still send a Chrismukkah e-card to someone special! It features some of your “favorite” reality “stars” as they sing their version of “The 12 Days of Christmas”!

The Weekly Pulse Weekly Poll

Last week I asked the question…”which day of the week is your favorite for TV watching?”. Since I was a little late last week..I decided to keep this poll open until next week. Yeah..I know, but it’s an easy way for me to continue my streak! Don’t worry..a new question will return in the NEW Year! The question STILL is..“which day of the week is your favorite for TV watching?” It basically means what day of the week do you look forward to the most for watching TV? So click on the link and VOTE NOW if you haven’t already! Remember..VOTE OR DIE!

Time to Talk a.k.a. My Top Ten New Year’s Resolutions!!

Okay..it’s that time of year again. No..not time to get drunk and party until the sun comes up. Well..yeah..it’s time for that too. But it’s time to make those New Year’s Resolutions!!

I hear your moans and groans. You say that no one EVER keeps those and you would be correct. But it is still nice to fool yourself for a couple of weeks into the new year.

I stumbled across this page and it inspired to come up with my own list. No..I’m not turning into Kevin, but lists are fun and quick and easy. What better way to end 2005?!?! So here is “My Top Ten New Year’s Resolutions for TV List”! That basically means things I say I will do, but end up not doing when it’s all said and done. Drum roll please…….

My Top Ten New Year’s Resolutions for Television List

#10 – I will watch more shows that I have never seen before! (Unless it’s a new show..likely not going to happen unless someone recommends it to me and then probably still no)

#9 – I will watch two shows at the same time! (In theory, I could do it with my Tivo..but I’m too lazy)

#8 – I will stop singing the praises of new shows that debuted in the Fall, which include ‘My Name is Earl’, ‘How I Met Your Mother’, and ‘Everybody Hates Chris’! (Most know these shows are good, but I know myself and I know I must tell everyone how uber supertastic these shows are)

#7 – I will watch less college basketball in March! (HA! It’s March Madness baby)

#6 – I wll watch the entire Super Bowl this year! (Unless there is a party or the Cowboys are in it…probably not going to happen)

#5 – I wll watch more animated shows this year! (Still not my favorite…still doesn’t interest me a whole lot)

#4 – I will watch less reality or game shows! (This may be the first to go with ‘American Idol’ starting in mid-January)

#3 – I will cook more of the things I see on the Food Network! (Yeah…see #9)

#2 – I will stop comparing ‘The O.C.’ to my own personal life! (HA! Not bloody likely! Looks to be just as drama-filled, if not more..but you got to love it!)

#1 – I will take over Murtz’s job! (This one is obvious)

#1.A. – I will finally get paid for writing for Pulse TV! (If you see me on the streets living in a carboard box with just my laptop..you will know that this one didn’t happen either..but make sure to say hi and drop some money into the hat)

Well that does it for me this year! Let me know if you enjoyed me or not in 2005! Any comments, questions, or suggestions are always welcome.

“Life Ain’t Always Beautiful, but It’s a Beautiful Ride!”

And as always remember…“You Can’t Fight Fate!”. See you in 2006! Stay safe!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
