TNA At Ringside: Show Me The Money

Columns

Welcome back to a regular edition of At Ringside. I hope everyone enjoyed their New Year and are ready for a new year in TNA Wrestling.

News & Shit

Concept is simple, I give news and opinions but my name is not Eric.

Samoa Joe wants some promised cash or he may go to WWE

The choice is really simple for TNA folks, PAY SAMOA JOE! Joe is one of the top 5 wrestlers in the company and one of the top 10 in the world. If you promised Joe money “if he proved himself” then you must pay when he delivers. Not paying when he delivers sends a horrible message to other workers and brings down the locker room. Release the dead weight like Hardy and Nash who I’m sure are making much more than Joe and are doing much less. Pay Joe or “Joe Will Kill You!”

TNA Fans bash WWE on Byte This

I personally love this story. Some people will say that “TNA fans are jealous” or “TNA fans are pricks.” But that’s not the case at all. TNA fans just care. They are willing to call another companies show and say the letters T-N-A, knowing a hang up is waiting. Then Grisham because a little bitch and just calls them retards because he can’t think of anything better to say. If WWE was smart, they would turn this into a weekly segment. TNA fans call in and argue with Grisham. Hell, if they did that, I might actually watch the show.

The Orlando Crowd turned bitch at the latest tapings

Now I don’t read TNA spoilers because I enjoy not knowing what happens every week. But this wasn’t a spoiler, it was a news item. The TNA crowd chanted “Boring”, “We Want Wrestling”, and some other shit during a Jarrett spoof on Sting. And then they chanted “Joe got screwed” and booed when AJ Styles was given Mr. TNA. I don’t mind the chants on Jarrett because maybe it will show TNA that nobody likes that asshole. The booing of AJ though, I do have a problem with. See there’s certain guys that the home crowd just isn’t allowed to boo no matter how bad he f*cks up. Derek Jeter in New York, Michael Jordan in Chicago, Tom Brady in New England, and Mario Lemiuex in Pittsburgh. Booing AJ Styles in Orlando is the same type of shit. Joe has only been with the company for 6 months of the year, AJ has been there all year and has accomplished more.

The New Year

This past week on Impact is what I like to call “Angle Advancement Week.” It seems to come once a month for TNA and this was that day in the month.

Jarrett and Brown squashing a bunch of jobbers, whatever. Why couldn’t they have beaten The Naturals in a hard fought match? That way The Naturals get back on TV and do something important and Jarrett/Brown beat an established team. It works well on both parts. Instead Jarrett and Brown squash Shark Boy and Kenny King.

Jackie Gayda’s interview made Melina’s speech on Smackdown sound like a Christian Cage promo. Gayda rambled on for 10 minutes about how Jarrett owes her money and if she doesn’t get it, she will reveal a secret. You see how long that took? 1 ½ lines on Microsoft Word and it probably took you guys 5 seconds max to read. She said the same shit I just did, expect it took her 5 minutes longer. And why is she bitching about money that she deserves? What has she done to deserve it? Samoa Joe has a better case than Gayda. I hope they end this stupid storyline.

Was Rhino vs. A-1 really needed? They could have accomplished the same shit (Abyss attacking Rhino) backstage or something. Instead, we get this match while…

Joe vs. Strong gets ripped on time. They should have cut Rhino/A-1 all together and given Strong and Joe more time to make a match of it instead of a squash. Also, where in the f*ck was Daniels? Daniels/Joe is TNAs MOTN front runner and instead of using Daniels to build his match with Joe, they use him to help out AJ.

AJ vs. Storm was just a good match. I can’t complain with anything in the match because it came off very good on TV. But I didn’t like the end show booking. Daniels saves AJ from AMW. I know it was to set up the East Coast New Year match but a PPV is more important than a 30 minute show where people were drunk if they were watching. I again have no problem with the match but have Team 3-D make the save.

Then have AJ/Team 3-D against AMW/Jarrett or some shit. Shannon Moore could have still run down and cost AJ the match and Christian could have come out afterward and beat on Jarrett and it could have been the huge brawl to end the show and we all know how much TNA loves their show ending brawl.

Oh yeah, Sting was introduced as the newest member of the TNA roster like we didn’t see that shit coming. As a Sting mark, I’m all for him coming in. I just want him to put over some younger talent and just know that his time as passed him. He better do what the f*ck TNA says (job to Jarrett) with all the damn money he’s making.

IP New Year’s Resolutions

So I decided to make some New Years Resolutions for myself concerning my contributions to IP.

*Improve as a writer. Anyone can improve, including myself.

*Keep Roundtable Record: I started off participating in most roundtables then tailed off in the end. This year, I’m going to try and be in them all and actually keep my record to 1. Show how predictable wrestling can be and 2. BECAUSE THAT’S HOW I ROLL! (And you think I wasn’t going to get it in this week)

*News: Again, started off posting oodles of newsoodles and then slipped. But I plan on posting TNA News once again and help out MM

*DVD Reviews: With Neely picking up some WWE Tape/DVD reviews I figure I would chip in some TNA stuff.

The End

I had much more material for this week but exams are coming up, I’ve been staying up way too late every night this week (College Football will do that to you), and I have been driving most of the afternoon so here I am, Thursday at 8, typing this column and I’m tired as shit. So I’ll save all the good stuff for next week, just to make you anticipate it more. Drop me a line at AMPLine4Life@aol.com and join me next time At Ringside.
