The NeelDown Video Review: WWF Fully Loaded

– Due to all the titles changing hands lately I thought this one would fit into the puzzle pretty well, and hey, just look at the opening contest. Look what belts these two guys are holding now.

– From Buffalo, New York

– Hosts are Jerry Lawler & Jim Ross

Edge v. Jeff Jarrett – Intercontinental Championship Match
Debra has on an extra great skimpy outfit tonight, which of course gets murdered by King’s perverted commentary throughout. They go back and fourth and Edge gets a spinkick and inside cradle for two. Edge gets a backslide for two, and sunset flip for the same. Jarrett grabs the title and pups and bails. This doesn’t go over well with the puppy chants and Jarrett escapes the ten count. Edge gets sent into the steps, King comments that not only does he like puppys but also beavers. Edge gets a bridge suplex for two but lands on a bad knee and JJ works on it. Edge gets another roll up but the kick out sends him into the pole and Jarrett gets an armbar takedown. JJ switches to working the injured shoulder and gets fancy with it, rolling out to drape the shoulder over the rope in style, then back in gets a sleeper. Edge gets out but Jarrett gets a flapjack for two. King has ALL the jokes flowing at this point, like comparing the puppys to the two count. JJ back to the sleeper which gets countered and then to a cradle for two, and sunset flip for two. Edge gets the vicous “fall with head hitting opponent’s pelvis” trick and covers for two. He follows with a heel kick and swinging neckbreaker, then cradle for two. What is this exactly, the see how many sneaky pins Edge can get match? Edge gets a tornado DDT and tries the Spear but Jarrett tosses him up and over, where the lights go out and Gangrel attacks but misses the bloodbath as Edge got the best of him. Edge rolls through on a crossbody for two, then counters a dropkick with a powerbomb for two followed by the Spear but no pin due to puppy distraction. Gangrel comes back to skin the cat on Edge, turning him around into The Stroke giving JJ the title back. ***, a solid opener at any cost, afterwards Austin takes JJ out for no reason but to say that he is looking for Taker.
Winner: Jeff Jarrett

The Acolytes v. The Hardy Boyz & Michael Hayes – WWF Tag Team Championship Match
They brawl to ringside to start and despite the numbers disadvantage the Lytes gain the upper hand. Hayes gets clobbered with the steps. Jeff gets a somersault plancha, followed by Matt’s moonsault. Bradshaw gets a fallaway slam on Matt, but Jeff hits him with a missile dropkick for two. Hayes and Matt with a a double suplex and Jeff gets a somersault for two. Farooq dominates Matt and tags to Bradshaw who gets a slam and boot. I guess it is time for that annual Bradshaw match Layfield reference, which will be that Bradshaw already in this match has hit most of all the moves he does with Layfield. Farooq back in whgo gets a backbreaker for two. It was actually a choke, but the ref counted it, so whatever. Acolytes cointune to pick on Matt until Jeff makes the save and Hayes gets tagged in. Bradshaw makes quick work of him, Farooq as well and Jeff gets powerslammed for two. Bradshaw back in who tosses Jeff of the top on a moonsault attempt, Matt and Hayes break the pin. Farooq in who locks in a rear choke. Jeff gets out with a jawbreaker and Matt attacks illegaly. Matt gets the Twist Of Fate on Farooq, Bradshaw breaks it. Bradshaw gets the CFH and superplex on Matt for two. Jeff hits Bradshaw with a cane for two. Bradshaw counters Jeff jumping off Matt’s back with a mid-air clothseline in a nice spot. Double powerbomb on Hayes ends it giving them the titles. ***1/4, it ended up being a really good match, all the guys managed to get their good stuff in, Hayes didn’t play a big factor, and I never get tired of seeing the replay of that mid-air counter.
Winners: The Acolytes

– Austin continues searching for Taker, Kevin Kelly interviews D’Lo.

Mideon v. D’Lo Brown – European Championship Match
If you eliminate the body, doesn’t Mideon looks just like Taker in the face? I don’t know why, but that suddenly just occured to me. D’Lo wins a slugest to start and gets the ten punches. D’Lo clothselines him over then gets a baseball slide and suicide dive. Mideon sends him into the steps and gets some barricade offense in. Crowd is actually into this one with face chants. Mideon gets a gutwrench bomb for two then app lies a rear choke. Ah, just what we needed in this one. D’Lo gets out but Mideon gets a neckbreaker for two. D’Lo turns the tide with the overhand SLAPS, but Mideon scrapes the eye. D’Lo gets a sunset flip for two but gets beat down again. D’Lo gets a tornado DDT with his head never making canvas contact for two then the Sky High followed by the Lo Down, and just like that wins the title back. **, about as good as match as any you could get from Mideon.
Winner: D’Lo Brown

Al Snow v. Big Bossman – WWF Hardcore Championship Match
How fitting we get this classic followup to the previous one. Snow meets him on the ramp wanting more nightstick shots, but hell breaks loose when Snow assaults Head with it. Bossman locks Snow in an equipment box near the set, but Snow gets out and nails him with a sandbag. They brawl to the stage where Bossman pins for two. Backstage Snow gets thrown through a wooden sign but Snow gains control until Bossman goes low. Snow throws HOT COFFEE on him followed by a plastic trash can shot and suplex through a table. That series of spots just earned it something. Bossman blocks the coffee pot and attacks with the fourth down football marker. Hey, if anything, at least they’re using a new variety of weaoponry. Bossman can’t get a golf cart to start so Snow attacks with a plant. Oh man, I was hoping for some shades of Mania’s golfcart showdown with Raven and Kane. Bossman attacks with the belt and blinds him with some sort of drink. Outside they go and Bossman gets a bulldog on the concrete for two. Snow attacks with a random hubcap and traffic cone, but Bossman comes up with a brick out of nowhere and attacks with it. There are random people watching this from the sidewalk. Snow nearly gets ran over by a car, but in turn gets his head driven into a street sign repeatedly. Bossman breaks a bottle over his head and handcuffs him to a steel barred gate, then beats him down and steps on him, still handcuffed, for the win. I’ve never really set a standard for rating the garbage hardcore matches like these, so you could consider it **, or whatever, I don’t know. It all depends on what your interpretation is on these types. If you’re fan of the hardcore title matches in general, it was as good as any.
Winner: Big Bossman

– Special guest referee for the following, Hardcore Holly cuts a promo putting himself over saying that if need be he will take out Kane and Big Slow, and that they know it. What exactly were Vince and company smoking when they came up with that one?

Kane v. Big Show – Special Guest Referee Bob Holly
Oh what a thrilling installment we have to look forward to here. Show presses Kane to the floor and sends him into the post. Kane slows him down with a boot inside but Holly distracts him giving Show a lariat. Show in control for a while… a long time… and so slow in the process. “The Real Big Show is in my pants” sign is waved. Oh, you silly fans with your idiotic signs. Show ends up missing the elbow after an estimate of four hours of offense and Kane gets a DDT and flying clothseline. He goes for the Chokeslam but Bob chop blocks him allowing Show to hit his for the win. X-Pac comes out to make the save, and then Taker to make the second save. -*, just awful.
Winner: Big Show

– Austin has apparently found Taker now after his interference revealing his secret identity in hide n seek. Taker gets busted open.

Ken Shamrock v. Steve Blackman – Iron Circle Match
The “Iron Circle” is a circle of cars in the parking lot. And… you have to escape the circle to win. Blackman charges but Shamrock throws him on a hood. Shamrock dodges a chain shot and a couple of windows get busted. They brawl around from car to car for a while and Blackman tries a tire iron shot but it misses. Shamrock finds a random trash can and beats him down with it. Shamrock wraps the chain around his taped fist and punches away ending up with Blackman getting choked out and unable to continue and Shamrock wins. 1/2*
Winner: Ken Shamrock

Chyna & Mr. Ass v. Road Dogg & X-Pac – Rights To The DX Name Match
Chyna works over a headlock on Dogg to start. Gunn gets tagged in resulting in an “Asshole” chant. Gunn gets a corner splash followed by cheap offense from Chyna. Chyna comes in with a boot to the spinal column and pair of elbows for two. Gunn gets a powerbomb but misses an axe handle off the second rope allowing Dogg to make the hot tag who cleans masculine ass with all the wacky leg lariats and spin kicks and so fourth until it gets stopped by Gunn. Chyna slams him for two. Gunn in with a slam for two. Chyna attempts a back handspring elbow but recieves a lariat in return. Wasn’t expecting that, but you take what you get. X-Pac makes the lukewarm tag leading to an all-brawl, ending with a Bronco Buster on Chyna and Dogg getting his slam on Gunn for the win, giving XP and RD the rights to the DX name, as if it had any importance. *1/2
Winners: Road Dogg & X-Pac

The Rock v. Triple H – Number One Contendership Strap Match
This is the good ole fashioned strap match. Just them attached, falls count anywhere. I think this way is more effective most of the time. It’s a brawl at ringside to start and HHH powers him onto the announce table after some ring post shots. Back in Rock scouts a back drop and gets the boot, but gets clothselined out of the corner. HHH switches to suffocation offense with the choke. Outside we go and Rock whips him into the steps. They brawl into the crowd and back out where HHH gets an elbow drop from the barricade. HHH uses the strap to shove him into the post. Rock punches away and drops him over the rail. They brawl up to the stage where HHH clobbers him down for two. HHH uses the strap for another Irish whip. Rock suplexes him on the concrete area and gets two. HHH back with another whip into the rail and gets two. Rock wins a slugfest but HHH gives him a low blow, so Rock scrapes the eyes in return but runs into a knee lariat. Chyna is out to distract the ref from Rock’s Rock Bottom. That gives HHH a low blow and some of his usual offense. HHH up top but Rock tosses him back down. Rock yanks him into a lariat and turnbuckle shot, samoan drop gets two. Back out they go, HHH gets a chair, Rock whips him instead. Back in and Rock layeths thee SmackDown for two. Chyna has the ref distracted again, and it allows Gunn to come in with cheap shots for two. Rock blows the Pedigree with a low blow uppercut, then gets the slam setting up the People’s Elbow which gets two, but Gunn attacks. Rock makes a mistake and takes his eye off the prize by giving Gunn the Rock Bottom, therefor turning around into the Pedigree making Trips the number 1 contender. ***1/2, really good stuff here on part of everybody.
Winner: HHH

Stone Cold Steve Austin v. Undertaker – First Blood Match for the WWF Championship
Yeah, and if Austin wins Vince will dissapear forever. Vice versa and Taker wins, Austin gets no more title shots. Brawl at ringside and Austin gets the belt. He misses the belt shot however and Taker tries to rip into Austin’s forehead cut. Austin fights back with punches and blocks a whip, but he gets sent into the rail and hit with the steps. They brawl into the crowd and back out, where Austin now has the steps but Austin blocks the charge attempt. Austin rakes the eye in an attempt not to bleed. Austin goes back to the cut however, and back inside misses a charge allowing Austin to work over the knee. Back outside Taker big boots him into the crowd where brawling ensues. Where have I seen THIS before. Back over and Taker drops him on the Spanish table. Taker gets a chair but misses with it and gets hit by the steps. Austin misses the Stunner and the ref gets bumped. Dolla Dolla makes his way out but gets leveled with a chair shot. Taker out of the ropes and they exchange low blows. Stunner. Vince is out, apparently thinking that somehow Taker is now bleeding from the Stunner. Austin takes him out but gets met with a chair shot to the ribs by Taker, then X-Pac invades. Taker is bleeding after getting nailed with a camera. Taker has the Tombstone in place but the ref sees his blood and calls the match. Vince comes in, Stunner. HHH in. Rock in who layeths the SmackDown on Trips. Taker with a chair shot on Austin, crimson mask time. Vince is crying at this point, Austin gives him one more Stunner, for good measure, sending him packing until he reappears magcially. **1/2
Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin

End of show.
