[TNA] Tons of News Including Talks With New Talent & More

Archive

– Matt Morgan was backstage visiting TNA at the Final Resolution PPV.

– The main event for next month’s TNA PPV is expected to be announced as Jeff Jarrett vs. Christian Cage for the NWA Title.

– Kevin Nash’s TNA contract runs through October ’06 with 15 dates on it.

– As of late last month, Jerry Jarrett hadn’t been seen at TNA since the incident where he showed up at WWE HQ and was photographed for WWE.com. That photo is currently on the main page of WWE’s Web site.

– In the Pro Wrestling Torch Newsletter’s year-end reader poll, Samoa Joe was named wrestler of the year by a landslide over #2 competitor AJ Styles.

– Brother Devon is reportedly in top shape, hoping to show WWE what they’re missing. BRD on the other hand looks a bit out of shape, and got a reputation for working overly stiff in his early weeks in TNA.

– Some in TNA feel that Joe was being held back when he was turned heel by Jeff Jarrett, protecting Jeff who wouldn’t be facing Joe if both were heels. Between that and Sting being signed to a big-money deal, there may be some bad feelings backstage, although Joe has said all the right things publicly.

– Sting, who turns 47 in March, was signed in part because SpikeTV chipped in some money towards his contract. The network is said to have cut similar deals with UFC to help them bring in Ortiz and Shamrock to coach The Ultimate Fighter. TNA is said to be in negotiations to bring in a bigger name, but not someone who would wrestle full-time, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

– There was talk back in December of pairing Ron Killings with Jeff Hardy.

– After Lance Storm’s WWE no-compete expires in early 2006, TNA is interested in bringing him in and pairing the former Intercontinental Champion with Justin Credible to re-form the Impact Players. Storm has said he would only come back to the ring if presented with an exceptional opportunity, since he likes that his first and last career matches were both against good friend Chris Jericho.
