Dave Scherer at PWInsider.com is reporting that Smackdown was featured near the top of the promotional video for the new CW Network. The implication is that WWE has until the Fall Schedule is announced in May to come to terms with the network, although the UPN deal goes through August 2006, so there is likely some flexibility.
The network is not programming Saturdays, so that night is not an option for a WWE move. Sundays wouldn’t make sense since the shows would be going up against Pay Per Views. Smackdown has been performing very well for UPN since the Friday move.
WWE found out today when the story broke this morning, along with everyone else not directly involved in the deal.
