The Inside Pulse:
Having not been together as a group for sometime, Switched reunites for their new album, Ghosts In The Machine. While this won’t be a full time thing (they released the album and plan on doing a handful of dates to support), this is welcome thing for Switched fans, who have been anticipating this album for awhile now.

Positives:
The guitar riffs on this album are very catchy and definitely have a great groove to them. While the drums aren’t anything that stand out, they provide a solid back drop to the album and keep it progressing nicely. Vocally, this albums is a toss between aggressive vocals and melodic vocals, both being placed at the right time in each song.

Negatives:
This album unfortunately brings out a lot of nu-metal tendencies, which can either be a flaw or a positive, depending on the listener’s point of view. Quite likely however, they will be lumped into the nu-metal genre, whether or not they want to.

Cross-breed:
If you’re a fan of Korn with some Disturbed thrown in, you’ll dig the new Switched album.

Reason to buy:
Catchy album with some heavy yet melodic riffs, this album is definitely acceptable in your cd collection alongside the Korn and Disturbed albums.
