[WWE] News on Announce Teams, Mexicools, Undertaker

Archive

– There have been rumors going around, reported in the Pro Wrestling Torch newsletter, that The Undertaker recently threw a fit backstage when finding out that Bob Orton had hepatitis as a teenager (it is known to stay contagious for life) and the WWE office knew, but didn’t tell Taker, even though Taker and Orton were working together in bloody matches. In other Taker news, according to the Wrestling Observer, there have been lots of “Undertaker” chants at recent house shows, but he is currently not working smaller markets.

– The Wrestling Observer reports that the Mexicools were told they would win the tag belts before plans were changed and Batista and Mysterio got their run.

– Also from the Observer, all of the WWE announcers have had heat with Vince over the past few months. Coachman was reamed out on his head-set recently. Styles was told by Vince that he has to focus more on telling the story and not as much on calling wrestling holds. Tazz and Cole have been noticeably unhappy, particularly with Ken Kennedy getting time in the booth with them lately. Yet, Jerry Lawler just signed a new contract.
