[TNA] Backstage Notes on Buyout Offer, Jarrett & More

Archive

– In interesting TNA news, the reason that weekly TV shows seem to be packed and go almost “too fast,” and PPV events have 9+ matches on the card, is because of the pay scale. Full-time workers are paid per TV appearance and guaranteed 40 shows per year. This explains so many multiple-man tag matches.

– Morphoplex reportedly offered Panda $20 million to buy TNA in December — about the same amount of money the company has put into TNA — but the Carters turned it down.

– The backstage thoughts on Jeff Hardy’s recent PPV no-show is that when he’s booked high on the card he has a lot more enthusiasm than when booked in the pre-show. He text messaged Jeff Jarrett two hours before his match saying he overslept.

– TNA is concerned that Jeff Jarrett isn’t getting “the right kind of heat” from the Orlando crowd, although there is no indication from TV ratings or PPV buyrates that Orlando’s fans are indicative of the overall TNA audience.

– Jeff Jarrett has final say on the TNA booking committee.
