The RAW Events
— Wow did that Super Bowl last night sink! Not that it was a bad game, but it was not that great either. And can you say “refs blew it”!?!? Hey maybe the NFL referees have something in common with the WWE refs!! But the Road to Wrestlemania starts tonight with an eight man tournament beginning tonight.

Atlanta, GA.

Hosts: Joey Styles, King and The Coach

The MAIN Events

WrestleMania Tournament: (Round 1) Kane vs. Chris Masters
We get reminded again as Masters makes his way out, that he will be the youngest champ if he wins the tourney and title. Sigh. Don’t even go there. Masters sets up for the masterlock, but Kane blocks it with a few punches and kicks, sending him post to post and finishing it up with a side slam. Choke slam is countered and set up to a master lock, but is countered. Masterlock is tried again, but Kane rolls down, and reversed to a pin and with leverage from the ropes gets the win. And the bad refereeing continues.
Winner: Chris Masters (5)

– Ashley vs. Mickey James w/ Special Referee Trish Stratus
And our referee theme of the night continuing, although this isn’t such a bad choice. Mickey instantly starts taking out Ashley as soon as the bell rings. Trish sets herself into Mickey’s cross body for some odd reason that gives Ashley a quick roll-up win. That was unnecessary and stupid.
Winner:(6)

WrestleMania Tournament: (Round 1) HHH vs. Ric Flair
The recent rubber match between these two. HHH gets chopped up in the corner for a while, but counters it with a knee to the face and is flipped outside while attempting an early pedigree. HHH puts in some lefts and right of his own as Flair looks to brawl back, but does his signature face flop onto the mat. Figure four is attempted on Flair himself, but reversed as Flair gets HHH back into the corner chops. Figure four is back in place by Flair in the middle of the ring but HHH gets the ropes. Back up, pedigree is hit for the 1-2-3. Have to give it to them, good match.
Winner: HHH (1)

WrestleMania Tournament: (Round 1) Shawn Michaels vs. Big Show
Vince comes out to antagonize Shawn before the match, telling him to walk out on his contract. Setting up next week a HBK retirement party in which Vince won’t sue. And also informs Shawn that he will be replaced tonight for Shelton. Big Show takes over the majority of the match. Finally Shelton pulls out some of his high flying moves and a dragon whip against show. A springboard bulldog finally puts the big man off his feet for a two! More control by Big Show until mama grabs a hold of Show giving Shelton time to give a swift kick to the head, knocking him out of the ring. Show takes over quickly once more as mama faints outside and Show delivers a choke slam for the win. After match, they finally realize mama has passed out as Show calls for help and Shelton yells for his mama.
Winner: Big Show (3)

WrestleMania Tournament: (Round 1) Carlito vs. Rob Van Dam
The feud between them two continue, which I thought a couple of months ago would be for the IC. RVD still up to his high-flying moves as he jumps off the top turnbuckle to the outside against Carlito, but side-steps the move, leaving RVD to hang himself up in the barricades. Match slows down for a bit until things pick up. Body-scissors take down pin for two! Carlito goes on the outside and gets a steel chair into the ring, setting up RVD for the Vandaminator. Up top five star frog splash gives RVD the win!! Lots of up-tempo moves at the end, and vintage RVD sets it up nicely.
Winner: Rob Van Dam (2)

– Edge & Lita vs. John Cena & Maria
Match starts off with Edge and Cena as Edge puts Cena into the turnbuckle shoulder first. And forcing Maria to tag into the match while Edge starts to dominate Cena on the outside. Lita finally tosses Maria in the ring (did I mention Maria has a very cute wrestling attire?) Lita begins to control Maria with Cena still out on the outside. Cena finally gets in to break things up as he puts in a “You cant see me” in there and Lita accidentally puts a hurricarana on Edge. With Cena about to go after Lita, he sides steps the Spear from Edge which nails Lita. Maria gets tagged in and picks up the won over Lita. Next Weeks Special Ref= Mick Foley
Winner: John Cena & Maria(4)

Quick HEAT

— Maria (Maria!?) Starts off the show by announcing the ‘former’ WWE Champion, Edge. And Edge is getting some MASSIVE heel heat tonight, WOW! (That’s a good sign!) Edge announces there will be a huge match for the WWE title with Cena vs. Edge himself next week. Because since he won against Cena last week in a DQ, he is guaranteed another shot. And his most watched championship reign in four years will continue. Letting Maria know that she shouldn’t call him a ‘former’ champ, which Maria replies he should be happy to be a former champ. Lita however forces her to announce Edge as the ‘future’ WWE Champion.

And then out of nowhere, Hacksaw Jim Duggen walks down to the ring to offer his referee services to next week’s match. Didn’t I mention refs in my intro? He calls Lita a HHHHOOOOO and Edge takes the 2×4 to his back. With Lita slapping Maria down as well. Spear is setting up until Cena makes the save.

— Edge and Lita try to convince Vince to let Lita ref next week’s title match. But Vince tells them that there will be a tag match tonight with Edge and Lita vs. Cena and Maria with the winner deciding who the ref next week will be.

— During commercial, the Spirit Squad introduced themselves with a cheer.

— Trish backstage is confronted by Mickey. Letting her know that she does love her, as a ‘friend’, don’t you hate that saying!? And then Trish introduces her uh- “date” to Mickey as she visibly gets jealous.

— Shelton with his mama letting her know the he is challenging Flair to the IC title. But Shelton takes off to grab his cell phone, leaving mama alone with Eugene. Dammit, didn’t he go to jail!?

— Candace Michelle full-length commercial

— Maria shows up backstage in a very HOT wrestling outfit with Cena, worried about the match tonight against Edge and Lita. And just to shut her up (I guess) Cena gives Maria a kiss and a pat on the ass, putting her into some visible heat!

— Carlito is interviewed by Grisham about his upcoming RVD match. With Carlito getting a chance to beat RVD and get into WrestleMania at the same time, that’s cool!

RAW Analysis
— WrestleMania Tournament- Round 2:
– Chris Masters vs. Rob Van Dam
– HHH vs. Big Show

— Some of those matches are not that much intriguing, with a predicted HHH vs. RVD final!? With things looking more and more like HHH will get that main event slot after all. And damn, was I on target with the referee theme tonight. It was almost some kind of side joke against the NFL with all the referee focus tonight; Master’s no-see-rope pin, Trish ref, tag-match to decide a ref! Wow. And don’t forget that next week Raw is on Thursday due to the dog show, yeah I said it, the dog show! Till that EVENT… you know, forget that event, just check out Raw and a special Raw Events next Thursday. Peace.
