In Flames – Come Clarity Review

In Flames Official Website

The Inside Pulse:
In Flames are certainly no strangers to the metal scene. Hailing from Sweden, this quintet releases their 7th full length album, their first with great distribution (Ferret Records). Some may see this as a selling out point for the band, while others are thankful that this band is receiving much more attention than it has ever received.

Positives:
A straight up heavy record, this album re-creates a lot of what In Flames is. The guitars are intricate and the vocals just seem to be getting better with this record. Anders (Friden) really shines on this album as his vocal range is probably at its best.

Negatives:
Old school fans may dislike the direction of this album. While it is nothing like Clayman or Whoracle, this album shows a great display of maturing, especially from Anders’ end of things. This isn’t as intense as previous works.

Cross-breed:
In Flames is a pioneer of the Swedish metal scene, bringing acts such as Soilwork, Disbelief, and other great Swedish metal bands to the forefront of the genre. To cross-breed them is nearly impossible.

Reason to buy:
Old school fans may like this album. It’s still heavy enough to satisfy the older fans, while fans that really got into Reroute To Remain and Soundtrack To Your Escape will absolutely love this album.
