[TNA] Tons of News Including Updates on Nash, Jericho and a Former World Champ Returning

– TNA was as of a month ago reaching out to two names “bigger than Sting,” according to Dave Meltzer.

– Former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Sabu is expected back in TNA some time in April.

– Kevin Nash is said to be interested in coming back to TNA.

– TNA has reportedly planned out main events for the entire year, with the top of each PPV basically mapped out, including Sting’s participation.

– Jericho’s XM radio show has been extended to two hours. He has no intention of coming back to wrestling any time soon, and is reportedly cutting back on his music as well as he concentrates on acting. Supposedly it would take “Sting money” for Jericho to consider coming to TNA. He has a role coming up in a movie called Shoot ‘Em Up that will star Paul Giamatti and Clive Owen, and is shooting in Toronto. Christian will also reportedly have a role in the film.

– The Japanese wrestlers tentatively being planned on for the X Cup tournament are Jushin Liger, Tiger Mask, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Rocky Romero as Black Tiger.

– MIA Team Canada member Johnny Devine was sentenced 1 year probation and a $1000 fine on 1/23 due to assault causing bodily harm in Calgary. This is from his participation in a fight while a bouncer in 2002.

– TNA iMPACT! is holding a high number of UFC viewers in most demographics.

– Jay Lethal was awarded a TNA contract due to impressing Jeff Jarrett in a match on 1/17.

– Shannon Moore’s girlfriend is the former Julie Drozdov, who makes Jeff Jarrett’s outfits. Adam York, who had been working with TNA, has been hired full time by WWE to do ring outfits. He is touring with the company. Ryan Phoenix is an indie wrestler that is now working with TNA in this capacity.

– Jeff Jarrett missed 2/3 and 2/4 shows in Puerto Rico due to being with his wife, who has suffered from cancer. Abyss missed the shows due to traffic.

– Kevin Day is TNA’s new CEO and said that everyone is being evaluated and no one is untouchable.

– Shane Douglas has been missing from TV recently due to being put in rehab for painkillers by his wife. Tom Prichard, Glen Gilberti and Jeff Cavanaugh (from Border City Wrestling) recently had tryouts as agents/on-air interviewers. Terry Taylor and Jeremy Borash have been doing the on-air interview duties lately.

– Bill Behrens, recently released by WWE (after working at the Deep South Wrestling promotion), is back with TNA, hired to book indie dates for its talent.

– Konnan needs hip replacement and shoulder surgery.

– Samoa Joe had brief discussions with WWE but ultimately decided to negotiate with TNA. He has reportedly agreed upon a two or three year deal.
