Brent Albright is the new OVW Heavyweight Champion. Albright won the title in a 20 minute match that was really about a 15 minute match with a 5 minute hot angle. Mr. Kennedy, billed as the WWE Representative for the OVW Title Tournament introduced both Albright and CM Punk. About 10 minutes into the match, Punk attempted a springboard move off the ropes and crashed to the canvas, clutching his right knee. Albright was immediately moved back by the referee Goose Mohoney. After about 30 seconds, other referees came to the ring with one referee screaming for the doctor. Punk was visibly upset, and was placed on the stretcher. As the stretcher was about to go through the curtain to the dressing room, Punk gets this enormous standing ovation. But that’s when Albright grabbed his heavy leather strap, the weapon that their feud is based on, and dove out of the ring and started whipping Punk. The stretcher tipped over, and Punk crashed to the floor, but Albright kept whipping him. Referees were shoving Albright back when Punk, on one leg, got into the ring and challenged Albright to follow him. Albright came into the ring but Punk started a comeback with one bad leg. The ref got bumped, so Punk ended up with the heavy leather strap. Punk was whipping Albright violently, but Albright kicked Punk’s bad leg out from underneath him, and then applied a Stepover Toehold Facelock. Punk quickly passed out. His arm went up and down three times, and Albright won the championship. When Punk was helped back up, as he refused a stretcher the second time, he was given a standing ovation and a loud chant of “C.M. Punk.”

In other news, Roadkill pinned Johnny Jeter of the Spirit Squad, but then the other four members of the Spirit Squad jumped Roadkill and destroyed him. Great heat. Elijah Burke ran into the ring, but he got stopped too and beaten up by the Spirit Squad. This was Elijah’s last night in OVW, as he is going to Deep South Wrestling.

Chris Cage and The Miz retained the OVW Southern Tag Team Titles against Chet the Jet and Seth Skyfire, and The Dicks did a backstage interviews issuing a challenge to the winners of the match for next week. The Dicks then said they’re coming after the tag team titles, but they’re going to be The Tollands. Chad then said if they don’t win the titles, they’ll split up, which upset Tank.

Paul Birchall pinned Deuce Shade, with a whole lot going on in this match. There was a backstage interview where Osama Rodrigues Alejandro is telling Aaron “The Idol” Stevens to get Shelly under control, and to get her mental help in a “sanitation.” Shelly came in and Osama called her crazy and left the interview. Shelly talked about wanting to have Paul Birchall’s baby pirate when Idol told her to calm down. Osama reappeared for a politcal announcement as he is running for Dictator of Los Kentuckos. Osama ended the interview with Shelly next to him, which was a funny scene. Osama also had a politcal announcement as The Highlanders did the news this week that was very funny. So then in the Birchall match, Aaron Stevens was ringside with Beth and the crazy Shelly, and also Domino with Cherry. Well, Birchall is beating up on Deuce, so Cherry grabs his leg, which means Shelly attacks Cherry and it wasn’t a catfight, it was a brawl with Shelly beating up Cherry. Birchall won with the C-4 suplex, and it ended up with Shelly shoving Beth down to the canvas when Beth pulled Shelly off Cherry. The Idol had to keep Beth and Shelly apart. They are still building to the OVW TV Title Match with Aaron “The Idol” Stevens vs Paul Birchall. Crowd ate all of this up.

They also taped something outside with Osama running for Dictator, but we were inside already.

Silverback Ryan Reeves won his OVW debut in a dark match against Kasey James.
