PWTorch.com and PWInsider.com have reported that prior to tonight’s dual RAW and Smackdown brand tapings, the wrestlers were subject to the first, “baseline,” urine tests under the company’s new Wellness Program. The talent had no prior warning that this would happen tonight.
The results will be used as a “baseline” test, to which future tests will be compared. As part of the Wellness Policy, “After the baseline test, subsequent positive tests for non-medical use of a prohibited substance will result in disciplinary action.” Therefore, in the future, those who had substances in their system will have to have shown that levels have gone down unless they have legitimate medical reasons otherwise.
According to the Policy, disciplinary action begins with a 30 day suspension without pay, however those who test positive from tonight will not be punished.
