The NeelDown iMPACT Zone

– As explained over at My Bloh, I am watching this after enjoying V for Vendetta. Oh, yeah, an update on the Cheap Seats: There will be none this week. This being because of my trip to Chicago coming up this weekend and being busy all through the week for the trip and going to WrestleMania.

– Hosts are Mike Tenay & Don West

-From Orlando, Florida

– Mike Tenay opens hyping Lockdown and then brings out Samoa Joe. “Samoa Joke” sign is seen. Ooh, I’m sure some TNA cameraman are going to get some bitching from the Jarretts in the back. We learn that Joe’s Lockdown opponent will be Sabu.

– Team 3-Dimensional gives another short and bad promo in the back hyping up the main event against Team Canada.

The Jobbers in the Rough v. Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, & Jay Lethal
The X guys clear the ring to start and then all three dive out onto the heels. And to think, Skipper could be one of them, if he could get back to his original roots and get out this awful, lifeless Jobbers in the Rough gig. Young drops Lethal with a spinebuster and then Skipper comes in and pins for two. Simon comes in and hits the ORLANDO SHUFFLE for two. Hey, you may not see it much in WWE, but there’s still hope. Sabin gets the hot tag and cleans house with some of his usual stuff. Sabin gets a top rope ranna on Young and then the Cradle shock for the win. Dutt waves around the US flag. Out of these three, they pick the non-American to wave it? Again, that goes back to the whole mystery of why he is representing the States in the first place. Weak opener. 1/2*
Winners: Chris Sabin, Sonjay Dutt, & Jay Lethal

– “Crome Dome” Slick Johnson wants to referee the main event and then gets into a “bald head insult” contest with Big Larry Z. Remember folks, all about the wrestling = TNA.

– I was a little disappointed when I found out the new Best of Bloodiest Brawls DVD features only matches from the three-hour PPVs, or at least that is what Jeremy Lambert said. I was one I was considering purchasing for review purposes, hoping to find on it the Jarrett-Raven title match from April of 03. I think it’s on the original Bloody Brawls DVD, but bleh.

– Steve Borden reveals that Sting will be at Lockdown, not Steve Borden. Yippie. Afterwards Jarrett and Steiner come out to harass Tenay and West. Then they attack The Naturals in the ring who came out for their scheduled match. For those wondering, Steiner threw an overhead suplex and a body press, then wacked Douglas with a chair multiple times, and locked in the Steiner Recliner. You know, the usual post-Steiner Brothers, pro-Barry Bonds pill popping stuff. Douglas ends up getting taken out in a stretcher. Damn.

Team 3-Dimensional v. Team Canada – Cage Match
Petey and company, or the Canada members who matter, get sent to the back to start. Dudleyz dominate for a while and D’Von catapults Young into the cage. After some friendly advertisements Young, who is already blading, tries climbing but gets knocked off. Roode gets thrown into the cage, Young gets grinded into the cage. This process repeats a couple of times as some Let’s Go Canada chants formulate. Young gets a hold of Bubba’s head and they hit him with a double suplex. More commercials. Boy is this a neglect way to “preview” Lockdown. We are back and D’Von gets some of his usual stuff. Yawn. This match is so slow and … pointless. I’m actually surprised Team Canada weren’t saved for one of those filler undercard PPV matches for Lockdown. 3-D on Young ends it. Man that was painful. -*
Winners: Team 3-Diminsional

– Afterwards AMW and the rest of Team Canada gain up on them and put Bubba through a table, then sing the national anthem.

– The Shelley Cam tapes Christian’s hot wife shopping and going into a tanning salon. Mitchell approaches her there and tells her to tell her husband we will see her soon. Was kind of expecting something more comical from Shelley and James, but oh well.

End of show.

The NeelDown: One of the worst episodes of Impact ever.
