Remembering Never – God Save Us Review

Official Remembering Never Website

The Inside Pulse:
With their last album gaining success in the very tough metal-core sector, Remembering Never releases their third opus, God Save Us. With a blend of traditional American metal with European hardcore, Remembering Never look to break through even more into the mainstream this time around without making huge changes to the vocals or guitar work ala Bleeding Through or Soilwork.

Positives:
A total head banging album from beginning to end, this album doesn’t let up at all. Aggression is the name of the game for Remembering Never, and they definitely don’t fail in that category. The vocals remain consistent all throughout the album, leaving the listener feeling as though they’ve been in or about to be in a fight.

Negatives:
From beginning to end, the album doesn’t change tempo a lot. If you’re looking for timing changes or different vocal rhythms, this album is definitely not up your alley. Once you’ve heard the first half of the album, you’ve heard the rest.

Also, if you own any of the recent hardcore albums from Throwdown or Terror, you really don’t need to listen to this album. It’s along the same lines and doesn’t offer a variety from the aforementioned groups.

Cross-breed:
This album fits in with bands such as Terror, Throwdown, Hatebreed, Converge, etc.

Reason to buy:
If you’re in the mood to destroy something, this band is certainly for you. If you want something to chill out to or something that varies from track to track, you might consider looking elsewhere.
