Rob Purchase and I are getting ready for what should be a huge episode of ’24.’ After having some delicious chicken gyros at the fine establishment of Messini on The Danforth here in Toronto, we are looking forward to some Jack Bauer interogation action.
DISCLAIMER: Neither Rob nor I believe in spousal abuse or abuse of any vulnerable people. However if Jack Bauer is forced to “torture” Audrey Raines we full support his decision.
Rob: This also counts for Presidents (ie. Logan).

Bill tells Chloe to look at Audrey’s activity over the past 16 months, including connections with
Bill takes Audrey into custody.
Rob: They aren’t even f*cking around.
Audrey says the informant was lying. She asks if Jack knows, Bill says he authorized it.
Rob: How about them apples?
Jack arrives back at CTU with Collette. She is put into holding.
Audrey is in the interrogation room.
Bill is upset because Homeland Security want to torture Audrey. Karen decides that they need to take aggressive action.
Jack offers to handle the interrogation and not use the “medical” aka drugging.
Karen calls Jack on Nina Myers and putting his personal in front of his work in the past.
Jack points out that Audrey is the daughter of Secretary of Defence Heller who will “eat you (Karen) alive.” If she is wrong.
Jack is given ten minutes to talk to Audrey.
Jack and Bill head to the monitors to watch Audrey. Bill and Jack don’t believe Audrey did anything wrong.
Some random guys are fighting in the street and a cop comes over to break it up.
Romo: they are gonna turn on him,
Some other guy takes out the cop. Its Bierko and his men. They take the cop’s uniform and car.
They drive off in a truck and the cop car.
Chloe tells Jack she saw a connection between Walt and Audrey.
Romo: She f*cked Walt.
Chloe points out they stayed in a hotel together”¦.in the same room. Chloe says the manager of the hotel confirmed they stayed together.
Romo: That was fast.
Rob: Chloe is awesome.
Jack is stunned at this news.
Rob: So he probably stole shit off her.
Meanwhile Audrey sits and waits to be tortured.
Rob: The bell tolls for thee Audrey;

Commercial time.
Rob: The one thing I like about this season compared to last. I like the consistent syntax gas instead of the new weapon every week plot of last season.
Romo: I totally agree. Last year it was a season for people with massive ADD and no short-term memory.
Rob: That pretty much sums up every year of 24″¦lol.
Romo: It’s a good thing I smoked pot in university to have a short term memory problem.

A new chick arrives to talk to Chloe, her name is Sherry from section 5. Chloe is rude to her. She is here to replace Edgar.
Romo: A blow to Chloe’s heart”¦poor Edgar. You know he was on ET Canada tonight?
Rob: yeah I saw the ad for that.
Sherry and the new guy from Homeland glance at each other.
Jack enters Audrey’s interrogation room.
Rob: It’s the main event”¦time to rumble.
Jack starts to ask Audrey questions, she is stalling and denying. Audrey is pissed she is suspect.
Jack says they will not ignore any leads. He keeps pressing her but Audrey is denying.
Jack “Was he involved?” (Secretary Hellar)
Audrey says Heller would never do anything like that.
Audrey says she doesn’t know who Henderson is, she says she has met Walt before.
She says they met at DOD briefings. She is sure.
Rob: Wrong answer. Its time to step it up.
Jack shows her the proof of the Pikes Hotel. Jack starts to yell at her for sharing a room with him.
Jack stares her down.
Audrey claims she was recovering from Jack”¦.she says they slept together once.
He asks why they broke it off.
Audrey: “Because he wasn’t you.”
Romo: That was a good answer.
She didn’t want to tell the truth because she feels stupid for sleeping with a traitor.
Jack throws the table aside and grabs her by the throat.
He is choke holding her against the wall. He is yelling at her.
Jack yells at the security camera “This is over.”
Karen says “she broke him not the other way around.” Bill is certain they got the truth. Karen orders Burke in to do the medical drugging.
Sherry and Chloe are working together.
Homeland guy comes over to Sherry and says she isn’t qualified for this work. He says the first mistake she makes she will be gone.
She says they worked together 2 years ago, she complained about him sexual harassing you. The guy got off with nothing.
Rob: (as Chloe) I harassed someone this morning.
Jack starts to struggle with the medical interrogators. He takes one out but the other guy stuns him with a stun gun. Audrey is taken away.
Rob: Why is he defending her? Boourns!!

Romo: The torture wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. I do love how everyone associated with Homeland Security is evil. Now where is the evil FEMA guys?
Rob: Don’t forget the stupid incompetent ones.

Henderson gets a call from Brennan. He asks if Wayne Palmer is dead yet. Brennan says he got away but will make it right.
Aaron Pierce is looking for Palmer. He finds out Wayne cleared a check point 30 minutes ago. Aaron is gonna go look himself.
Rob: Bad idea Pierce.
Karen tells Jack to calm down. Jack says Henderson he is trying to make Jack lose focus by naming Audrey. Karen says Collette can’t be interrogated because of the immunity. Jack wants to prove Collette is lying so they can void the immunity deal.
Romo: I love this play.
Jack asks Bill and Karen to allow him and Chloe.
Rob: Nobody can say no to Bauer.
Romo: Especially the ladies.
Homeland guy comes over to harass Sherry for some misdead. Chloe takes responsibility. He says that is not like her, she is not sloppy.
Romo: Chloe looks sloppy all the time.
Chloe stands up to him and puts him in his place.
Rob: That’s right, don’t f*ck with Chloe.
Romo: She is quickly becoming my favourite person on the show now.
Chloe and Jack start to try to find info on Collette.
Romo: I love when she says “I am on it.”
Bierko and his van arrive at a gas company. They quickly shoot the guard and make their way in.
Rob: They are gonna gas the gas company.
Bierko and his boys start to unload the canisters. They move them into the building.
Some gas company workers are approached by Bierko. He asks what they are doing their. They shoot him. The other guy cooperates and takes them where they want to go.
He shows them the right room and lets them in. Some other random employees are in this control room.
Bierko tells the gas guys he needs the pressure in the pipes. They other guy tells Sam not to do it, they shoot him.
Sam says it will take an hour to reduce the pressure. Bierko tells him he has 15 minutes.

Romo: I love how that times up right with the end of the episode
Rob: ofcourse
Romo: I’m sorry but if I was in there I wouldn’t help them. I mean you know they doing something pretty bad they aren’t putting a “good gas” in the pipes.
Rob: yeah its not like they are gonna put laughing gas in there.

Wayne Palmer continues to hide in the bushes. He has a gun on someone.
It’s Aaron. They move off together.
Audrey is sweating as the drugs enter her system. She is in severe pain. Burke is screaming at her.
Romo: This is not as much fun as the beating.
Chloe finds that Henderson and Collette have a connection through 8 cell calls. Jack tells Bill. Bill calls the President.
Jack enters the holding room with Collette. The guard tells Jack he has to go, that he cant talk toher. Jack knocks him out with one punch and takes his gun.
He points it at Collette and who admits Henderson told her to say Audrey was the mole.
Jack demands to know the target. She says it’s a natural gas distribution centre. She doesn’t know which one. He has the gun right in her face”¦ but relents.
Bill comes over and Jack tells him about the natural gas centre. He needs to find which one.
Burke puts in more drugs, She starts to scream. Jack orders Burke to leave. He starts to un strap Audrey. She is shaking badly. Jack tells her about Henderson. He hugs her.
Rob: Boourns!
She says she knew he would come.
Romo: CHEESE
They kiss.
Rob: boourns on the make out.
Jack gets a call from Bill, Chloe has some info. Jack and Audrey share
Rob: What about the hot girl from “Spin City?”
Romo: I agree she was hotter.
Chloe says she is trying to get satellite coverage to find the distribution centre. Bill says they could have 180k casualties.
Sherry comes over and says the psi pressure would have to be dropped to properly distribute the sentox. Chloe finds the right centre and congratulates Sherry.
Bill brushes Sherry’s shoulder “great work.”
Rob: Dirty old man Bill!!
Romo: I think its gonna be a little lesbian action to be honest.
Aaron and Palmer are getting shot at. Aaron returns fire and is doing well but Palmer is hit.
Aaron gets in a car with Palmer in the car but he is out of commish. They drive off and get away.

Jack is in a helicopter enroute to the gas centre. Chloe says they have 4-5 minutes. They can only adjust the PSI at the main control room.
The Russian dudes are getting ready to release the gas. They tell Bierko they are ready.
He asks Sam how much longer. He says he can’t go any faster without risking a shutdown.
Chloe says she has found 2 guards by heat signatures but cant look inside the building.
The helicopter prepares”¦Jack and his team descend on ropes. They hit the roof and moves off. The copter moves off.
Jack and his squad make their way inside the building. They hear some Russian voices”¦
Jack spots them and takes them out with one shot from him and Curtis takes the other one out.
They continue their progress. Jack orders their silencers off.
They look inside the control room to count the bad dudes.
They slowly sneak in. One guys spots them and takes out a CTU guy. A firefight ensures
Bierko prepares to release the cause remotely. It starts to release and he leaves. Jack sees him and goes after him shooting a bad guy on the way.
Jack tells Sam he needs to shutdown the pump. Jack wants C4 and a timer he want to ignite the gas before the syntox can leave the plant.
Jack finds the pipe and takes out his bomb,
Bierko is moving his way around the building.
Jack is told he has 60 seconds.
He hooks up the c4 and puts a 30 second timer on the bomb,
Curtis and the others flee the building.
Bill is calling for Jack, no response”¦where is Jack?.
The bomb goes off.
Jack is running out to the building explosions go off behind him
He gets hit by a last blast. But he is ok.
Jack sees Bierko. He is going after him.
Bierko is knocked down by an explosion.
Chloe yells at him to get out.
Bierko is not hurt and the two fight. Another explosion goes off right near the two of them.

Final Comments:
Romo: After watching the “next week on 24″ it becomes clear my prediction that Martha’s aide was up to something sketchy was dead on. I rule. This episode did not however rule all that much. The middle 30 minutes were meh. Audrey’s torture was meh and I wanted her to be evil even though we all knew that she wasn’t. The episode did reveal that Chloe has now replaced the beloved Tony Almeida as Jack’s go to person.
Rob: I can sum up this episode in one word: Yawn! All week whenever I felt down I had Audrey’s interrogation to look forward to. The actual interrogation was MASSIVE letdown to say the least. To top it all off my favourite comedy duo of Novak and Logan didn’t even make one second of airtime in this episode.
Romo: Good point, I totally forgot about the lack of Novak and Logan.
