Welcome to this fortnights edition of You Complete Bar Steward!

For the next couple of months (dubbed “The Brandy Wars”), we’re taking a look at some Brandy based Cocktails. You get Three Brandy-based Cocktails in each column. Last week I brought you the Alexander, the Sidecar and the Stinger.

This week, you’ve got a Zoom, the B&B and the Ecstasy. Let’s get drinking!

Our third Brandy Cocktail is…

Zoom

Difficulty Rating: 1/5
Taste/s: Creamy, Sweet
Colour/s: Light Brown

Ingredients
25ml Brandy (or Cognac… your choice)
2 tsp. Honey
Small amount of Light Cream

Equipment
Cocktail Glass
Shaker

Instructions
Put all the ingredients into the Shaker and shake well with ice. Strain the contents into the glass.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, then this one’s for you!

A number twelve walks into a bar…

… and asks the barman for a pint of beer.

“Sorry I can’t serve you,” states the barman.

“Why not?!” asks the number twelve with anger showing in its voice.

“You’re under 18,” replies the barman.

The B&B

Taste/s: Strong
Colour/s: Light Orange

Ingredients
25ml Brandy
25ml Benedictine

Equipment
Cocktail Glass
Shaker

Instructions
Pour all the ingredients into the Shaker and shake well with ice. Strain the contents into the glass, over ice.

Other…

This goes well with a nice cup of Coffee after a particularly large meal.

Ecstasy

Taste/s: Sweet
Colour/s: Light Brown. Clear.

Ingredients
1/3 Brandy
1/3 Drambuie
1/3 Dry Vermouth

Equipment
Cocktail Glass
Shaker

Instructions
Pour all the ingredients into the Shaker and shake well with ice. Strain the contents into the glass.

This is a bit of something different. Try it. It’s unexpectedly nice.
