The Show

There are 11 episodes – one episode is a double episode – from three different Star Trek series – Enterprise, Next Generation and Voyager – on four DVDs. They are presented in stardate order. The episodes are as follows:

Enterprise: Regeneration
TNG: Q Who?
TNG: The Best of Both Worlds, part 1
TNG: The Best of Both Worlds, part 2
TNG: I Borg
TNG: Descent, part 1
TNG: Descent, part 2
Voyager: Scorpion, part 1
Voyager: Scorpion, part 2
Voyager: Drone
Voyager: Dark Frontier
Voyager: Unimatrix Zero, part 1
Voyager: Unimatrix Zero, part 2
Voyager: Endgame (double episode)

Being a huge fan of The Borg I thoroughly enjoyed this disc. I still have some major qualms with the Enterprise episode as it didn’t really fit into what had been said before about The Borg. All of the TNG episodes are solid. Seven of Nine fans will be pleased to see the disc offers the episodes where she is first brought aboard Voyager. Not being a Voyager fan I was surprised how much I enjoyed those episodes, despite the fact I still want Janeway to have her head cut off. Plus having missed the series finale, ‘Endgame’ it was nice to actually see how things finished off.

The DVD

Video

All the episodes are shown in full screen format except for the ‘Enterprise’ episode which is shown in widescreen. I found the video on all the discs to be more than satisfactory.

Audio

The audio is available in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and 2.0. There are also English subtitles. I had no audio problems whatsoever.

Special Features

There is one audio commentary by Mike Sussman and Phyllis Strong on the one ‘Enterprise’ episode. There are three text commentaries by Michael and Denise Okunda on TNG’s The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1 and 2, and Voyager’s Unimatrix Zero, Part 2.

I’m not a huge fan of text commentary but I’m sure pure Trekies will appreciate the insight offered in all the commentaries.
