The Weekly Pulse: TV's Second Wife

Archive

March is over, but the Madness still continues! I’m glad Florida won the championship..at least over LSU. I thought UCLA would win out of the “”final four”, but I was wrong. Oh well.

And speaking of predicting winners of things..you can’t predict the winner of ‘American Idol’ this year! You can’t! It can be 6 people now! As long as Bucky or Kellie don’t win it..I’ll be happy! Mandisa leaving was a little shocking, but none more than the bottom three. Paris and Elliot? Ouch! I still say a guy wins it, though. Chris, Taylor, Ace, or Elliot. Yeah..I know that narrows things down a bit. But whatever.

Um..I’m a little short on time, so I will leave things at that. I urge you to keep on reading and see who made it to the “Elite 8” of the TV Tournament. Our madness continues into April! Enjoy..but first check out the rest of the week that was at IPTV!

Seinfeld Quote of the Week

“Yo-yo ma!”Kramer (After getting kicked in the head by Crazy Joe Davola)

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Columns a.k.a. The All-Star Lineup!!

Mathan Erhardt names five actors that played certain roles in the past, where he feels they will ALWAYS be known as the people they once played. He also comments on ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Big Love’, ‘Scrubs’, ‘Teachers’, ‘Prison Break’, ’24’, ‘The Unit’, ‘Boston Legal’, ‘Black.White.’, ‘Lost’, ‘Smallville’, and ‘The Thief’! And would you rather go on a blind date with Max from ‘Dark Angel’ or Sydney from ‘Alias’? I go with Max! Jennifer Garner doesn’t do it for me!

DeeDee agrees with me or I agree with her! You can’t predict a winner for ‘American Idol’ this year! Too many good people left and as long as they eliminate Bucky and Kellie soon..I’ll be happy as I said before! Check out her comments on the show!

Sarah Quigley talks about ‘Survivor’ and what has happened so far this season! Can’t remember? Well neither could Sarah for a bit. She remembered, though, and wonders if others like her are looked bad upon from the rest of the world because she watches reality TV and writes about it! I’m in the same boat, and I would say the majority of the people I know think it’s cool. But there are a few who laugh at me behind my back. Forget them, though. They’re just jealous!

Dora Malone said her column would be shorter this week since she couldn’t say anything productive about ‘Survivor’ until she knew what the HELL was going on with the show. However, it’s not that short. So read it for yourself and find out what she thinks about ‘Survivor’ and judge the shortness of her column!

Patrick Gilchriest is ALL about ‘Survivor’ as well! Now you see why I never talk about that show. I don’t watch it, since I choose to watch other shows during that time. I know I can catch up on everything on this site anyways. That’s how good we are! See what Patrick has to say to complete the cycle!

Farah Syed wonders why TV stars and TV shows go to the big screen, in the form of movies. Yeah..they can make more money, but really..they usually end up sucking! TV is king! She also looks forward to see how ‘The Simpsons’ movie will do at the box office. Will it suck or will it ROCK?! Find out in 2007. But read Farah today and like it!

Kevin Wong wants to know why IAD agents are always bad guys on TV shows. He also has a lot of good stuff embedded throughout the column. He watched a lot of shows this week and he talks about most of them for a hot minute! He finishes us off with some comics! What more could you want?!

Recaps a.k.a. The Same Plus Some New Stuff!!

Craig Russell has a special episode guide for ‘Gilmore Girls’! He summarizes the sixth season so far! And what happened on the first new episode of that show in a month? Craig has the recap here!

Romo and Rob Purchase are the champs of watching ’24’. They have it, if you missed it! Way to go team!

I only had time to recap ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ this week. ‘The Challenge’ is over, so I’m down to two shows. And ‘The O.C.’ will be up on Friday later or over the weekend. So look for that next week. However, I did have time to do one more thing this week. Keep reading.

Steve Murray has the fourth episode of the new season of ‘The Sopranos’!

Kevin Wong has another recap of ‘American Idol’. He also has ‘The Amazing Race 9’ on a new day and time!

Bob Reiss does another LIVE recap of ‘Survivor’! But you knew that already!

This week we had 2 TV on DVD reviews!

I had time to review Dawson’s Creek – The Complete Sixth Season! It’s the end of an era!

Kevin Wong travels with the ‘Star Trek’ crew to review Star Trek Fan Collective – Time Travel!

Celebrities a.k.a. Double Jim!!

Former ‘Apprentice’, Jim, returns with his thoughts on episode #6 of the new season!

And since Murtz and Eliza slack up and not make my deadline this week, we have more of Jim. He interviews another former ‘Apprentice’, Dan Brody! See what they had to say!

Time to Talk a.k.a. The Madness Invades April!!

The “Sweet 16” occurred this week and the battles were relatively close. No blowouts or anything. But you wouldn’t expect there to be any. Some good matchups. Here are the results of the third round of the tournament:

#1. – ‘Lost’ – 34
#16. – ‘Family Guy’ – 29

#8. – ‘The Apprentice’ – 14
#9. – ‘Law & Order’ – 46

#4. – ‘The Sopranos’ – 41
#13. – ‘Boston Legal’ – 21

#5. – ‘Survivor’ – 23
#12. – ‘My Name is Earl’ – 40

#2. – ’24’ – 47
#15. – ‘Veronica Mars’ – 14

#26. – ‘The Office’ – 36
#23. – ‘The Amazing Race’ – 25

#3. – ‘American Idol’ – 22
#19. – ‘Prison Break’ – 37

#6. – ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ – 33
#11. – ‘How I Met Your Mother’ – 27

So what did I think about the results? I think everyone made it their mission to eliminate all the reality TV shows from this tournament as ‘The Apprentice’, ‘Survivor’, ‘The Amazing Race’, and ‘American Idol’ all went down this round. Am I surprised by any of these results? The only one that shocks be a little is ‘My Name is Earl’ over ‘Survivor’. And ‘The Office’ over ‘The Amazing Race’. ‘The Office’ is the biggest long shot of them all. After they beat ‘CSI’ in the first round..they have been unstoppable. Can they keep going? They face ’24’, which will be TOUGH to beat. I am also a little shocked by the fact that ‘Family Guy’ almost beat ‘Lost’. Just shows you how crazy ‘Family Guy’ fans are! I still say that ‘Lost’ and ’24’ are the shows to beat. ‘Prison Break’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ will be an interesting matchup to see who wins. And we will see if ‘My Name is Earl’ and ‘The Office’ can keep the “upsets” going by beating two powerhouse shows! Oh..and eventhough ‘American Idol’ is the most watched show on TV..it still lost to ‘Prison Break’ this week. I think it goes back to the reality vs. traditional show battle. Not a major surprise in my book, though. And it’s interesting to see that there are 3 NBC shows left, 2 from FOX and ABC, and 1 from HBO. There are 0 shows from CBS left, and CBS is the most watched network each week. Very interesting. I guess it proves that world-wide ratings don’t hold up with the people that visit InsidePulse. This is YOUR tournament, though..so YOU decide!

It’s time to move on, though. We have 8 shows left! Take a look at the updated bracket!

Best Show on TV Tournament

It’s now up to YOU to decide which shows should move on. We begin the “Elite 8” round of the tournament this week. Some interesting battles. Lets see who moves on. You have 4 polls to vote on. Decide which show is better and next week we begin the “Final Four”! So VOTE now! Tell your friends! Everyone continue the madness!

That’s all I got this week. Any comments, questions, or suggestions are always welcome. Especially anything you have to say on this tournament. I want to hear it!

“Life Ain’t Always Beautiful, but It’s a Beautiful Ride!”

And as always remember…“You Can’t Fight Fate!”. See you next week! VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
