The Weekly Pulse: TV's Second Wife

Archive

Random thoughts? Don’t have much this week, except that I am SO happy that Bucky is gone from ‘American Idol’! This is long overdue in my book! He should have been #12. Now..lets get Kellie out of there or put a muzzle on her and we will be set. Interesting weeks to come.

Other than that, nothing for me to talk about. We are down to the “Final Four” shows in our “Best Show on TV” Tournament! Make sure to keep voting, even if your favorite shows are gone. Yeah..it may be hard to vote for shows you don’t watch, but the final four shows are extremely popular..so you probably have heard something about them. Hell..flip a coin, if you want. We have two more weeks until we crown the winner. Keep reading to find out who moved on this week and what you get to vote on as well!

But first..lets take a look at the week that was here at IPTV!

Seinfeld Quote of the Week

“Seinfeld you magnificent bastard!”Jerry (After seeing he’s been moved to number 1 on his girlfriend’s relationship scale.)

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming…

Columns a.k.a. The All-Star Lineup!!

Mathan Erhardt begs for you to vote for his favorite shows in my tournament! How about you offer them money, Mathan? That may help. Besides that..he also comments on ‘Prison Break’, ’24’, ‘The Unit’, ‘Thief’, ‘Weeds’, ‘Huff’, ‘Penn & Teller’s Bulls#it’, ‘Lost’, ‘Big Love’, ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘Black.White.’, ‘Scrubs’, ‘Teachers’, and ‘City of Men’! Only about half of these shows I have never seen..so that’s not bad! Oh..and would you rather have a reality show on VH1 or E!? I would have said E! a few years ago, but I say VH1 now! It’s hotter!

DeeDee looks at ‘American Idol’ this week BEFORE it actually aired this week. So it’s a preview..if you will. See if she was right and I hope she was! Wait..I know if she was or not. You just have to find out for yourself, though!

Sarah Quigley talks about last week’s episode of ‘The Apprentice’. The Donald, chicken, and Arby’s? Who would have thought?! Read everything she has to say about the show!

Matt Basilo doubles up this week! He had no column last week, because..well who knows..but this week he makes up for it. It comments on ‘Lost’, ’24’, ‘Survivor’, and ‘The O.C.’ You get two weeks worth of comments for each of those shows, so get to reading! And he comments on a ‘South Park’ vs. ‘Family Guy’ WAR?!

Farah Syed is a re-run this week! Wait..she TALKS about re-runs this week. Okay..gotcha. She says they help in some ways. How? You know what to do. And find out why she is so angry?!

Kevin Wong has fond memories of ‘RollerGames’! I remember that show as well. Roller derby RULES! He also tells you what he watched this week and a few comments for each. Hurry up and read this before he leaves the country! Well..he’s probably left by the time you read this, so might as well savor it as he will be gone all next week. Kevin will be back in two weeks!

Dora Malone is PISSED at her Molecular Biology teacher! Ah..I remember those days well. Not the biology part, but college teachers thinking that their classes are the most important part of your life..EVER! Anyways..it’s a quick column for Dora as a result of school. It’s all about ‘Survivor’ and why does she have batteries in her room? Hmm..I won’t ask.

Patrick Gilchriest thinks things are about to shake-up on ‘Survivor’! The episode has already aired by now, so go read what Patrick had to say and then find out if he was right!

Recaps a.k.a. The Same Plus Some New Stuff!!

I recap last week’s episode of ‘The O.C.’, which is how it will probably go for the rest of this season. I won’t have time to do it “LIVE” on Thursday night, so it will usually be up some time over the weekend (and thus..in next week’s column). Hopefully on Fridays, but it’s the weekend, so who knows for sure. Sorry.

Romo and Rob Purchase continue their non-stop coverage of ’24’! Tick..tick..tick!

Kevin Wong does his usual again this week. That’s ‘American Idol’ on Tuesday and ‘The Amazing Race 9’ on Wednesday! Next week, I take over ‘American Idol’ for him, since he is out of the country! Yay!

Steve Murray has the newest episode of ‘The Sopranos’!

Bob Reiss is LIVE again for ‘Survivor’!

This week we had 4 TV on DVD reviews!

Romo has some love for South Park – The Complete Seventh Season! And then takes a look at a special set from a certain show as he reviews Star Trek – Borg Collective!

I go back in time to review Doogie Howser, M.D. – Season Four!

Travis Leamons joins the fun to check out Robot Chicken: Season 1!

Celebrities a.k.a. Triple Jim Plus Murtz and Eliza!!

Murtz and former ‘Survivor’, Eliza, are back with their comments on last week’s episode of ‘Survivor’!

Former ‘Apprentice’, Jim, does triple duty this week. He comments on episode #7 and episode #8 of ‘The Apprentice’, and then interviews Pepi, another firee from this season!

Time to Talk a.k.a. We Have Our Final Four!!

The “Elite 8” is now over! We are down to four shows! It’s the infamous “Final Four”! You knew these would be close matchups. Lets see who won. Here are the results of the fourth round of the tournament:

#1. – ‘Lost’ – 45
#9. – ‘Law & Order’ – 19

#4. – ‘The Sopranos’ – 31
#12. – ‘My Name is Earl’ – 37

#2. – ’24’ – 39
#26. – ‘The Office’ – 28

#19. – ‘Prison Break’ – 31
#6. – ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ – 33

So what did I think about the results? Just as I have said from the beginning, ’24’ and ‘Lost’ are the shows to beat and they both advance. ‘Lost’ had no problems with ‘Law & Order’. ’24’ had to sweat it out for a bit with ‘The Office’. Think of ‘The Office’ as George Mason, except they couldn’t beat Connecticut a.k.a. ’24’! It was close for awhile, but Jack won out! The only upset was Earl over Tony! My only shock with that is the fact that a first year show like ‘My Name is Earl’ is considered one of the best shows on TV. I like that show, but it’s a small surprise in my book. And ‘Prison Break’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ was the closest race, just as I thought but all my predictions came true. So we have the top two seeds in the final four along with a 6 seed and a 12 seed. That 6 seed is ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, which is THE top show for ABC now. No shock to see them in the “Final Four”. And the 12 seed is ‘Earl’ as I have already said. A popular show with a popular funny man leading the way. All in all..this will be a interesting last two weeks!

Take a look at the updated bracket before we start the voting!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
