The Inside Pulse:
Hailing from Washington, D.C., Dog Fashion Disco has never been a band to follow what’s hip or what’s in. Their eclectic sound has given them a steady underground following, but unfortunately, commercial success has not followed. Now on their third label, Dog Fashion Disco looks to finally break through into commercial success without alienating their loyal fanbase.

Positives:
Dog Fashion Disco fans will not be disappointed. This album remains true to what Dog Fashion Disco clearly is, misunderstood musicians who play pretty much what they want. This album goes from being metal, to operatic, and even has a country track or two.

With that being said, people who love eclectic albums will simply adore what Dog Fashion Disco does. They don’t fit to one style, but they simply try all styles on for size.

Negatives:
Metal fans will dislike this album. Country fans will dislike this album. Dog Fashion Disco is almost a niche market and unfortunately, not everyone will buy into what they do. This has been a problem for them their whole career and it doesn’t appear that they will change course anytime soon.

Cross-breed:
Dillinger Escape Plan stripped down, throw in some System of a Down, a little Johnny Cash, and some old school punk beats, and you have yourself Dog Fashion Disco.

Reason to buy:
If you’re looking for something completely different and off the wall, DFD may be your band. However, don’t be surprised to find yourself skipping a few tracks.
