Joey Styles is at the announcing booth for this weekends HEAT, and as sad as it may come… this may be the last time Styles does a Raw related announcing job as word has it the Ross is doing Backlash Sunday and may take over soon on Raw. Sigh.

– Eugene vs. Lance Cade
Why the hell is Eugene still having matches!?!? Haha, Styles is announcing that he is not ad-libbing, and that here he gets to have personality! Nice. He talks more about the HBK/McMahon match. And they ring about how now he can call wrestling moves and not story tell like he does on Raw. Wow, this announcing is more interesting than the match. Oh, match wise, Eugene bites Cade’s ass, but rams into the pole shoulder first. Eugene’ing’ up starts up and then Rock bottom hits as Styles does his best JR imitation by saying things over and over again. Cowboy hat goes on for Eugene, but Cade gets the big boot and clothesline for the win.
Winner: Lance Cade

– Goldust & Snitsky vs. Eric Swartz & Andrew Simmons
For some reason, Grisham keeps on ragging on Styles throughout the show so far. Goldust spanks the guy in the red tights (whats with the ass fetish this weekend?) and Snitsky hits a huge clothesline. Snitsky takes over and Goldust comes in to do the same. Snitsky tries to smell the feet of his opponents while shattered dreams connects on the other side of the ring. Wheel barrow suplex wins the match.
Winners: Goldust & Snitsky

– (Raw Re-wind: One of the crap fest matches that was Raw 4-42) Spirit Squad vs. John Cena & Edge & Triple H
Edge is the first one in the match as he immediately gets double-triple teamed. HHH is the next one in as he settles things up and gets the tag into Cena. Cena gets the massive beatdown by all five members. And even on his second wind, the crowd either boos or gives no reaction as HHH gets the tag with the pop. Pedigree is set, but the numbers come in. Edge meanwhile just kicks back and watches the show as both the FU and the pedigree is hit at the same time. Cena and HHH then slug it out as Edge walks up the ramp with Lita as we fade out. Um, ok.
Winner: No contest

– Kane vs. Murdoch
It’s the MAIN EVENT. And we got the star of “See No Evil” the BIG RED MACHINE… KANE!!! (Ok, so do I get paid for that movie promotion!?) You should probably know this is a Kane squash here, so any little offense that Murdoch gets in is purely coincidental and doesn’t mean much. During the match, we get a quick synopsis of the movie as well. Oh and for some reason, Grisham compares Styles to JR (don’t even start with that, Styles blows JR away!) Choke slam finishes.
Winner: Kane

The HEAT Wave
You know, this show is worth hearing Styles alone. I don’t know what’s up the ass of Vince, or for that matter, any fans out there that are dying to have “Good ‘ol JR” back. For what? So that we can hear the same thing over and over within a minute span? So that we can hear, “That was a barn burner!” or “That’s not right?” or “Austin, Austin, Austin!” the poor guy sounds like he’s gonna have a heart attack. Seriously, JR was one of the greatest announcers that the WWE ever had, I’m not contesting that. He was the perfect fit to launch this company in a new direction and the perfect one to say the story in the Attitude era. But that has been long since gone now. And the key word, “was”. His time has come and gone, and before he left you know his act was getting stale. That’s including King who shouldn’t even be there as well!!! It’s the whole reason why Vince changed announcing duties. Styles was brought in to bring a fresh new voice. And that he has. Who cares he isn’t in the “WWE mold,” he wasn’t from WWE, neither was JR when he started. Remember that little organization called WCW? Plus you brought him in because you knew he was different, why try to change something when it doesn’t need to be!? This is just mainly a cry to STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!! I was upset that Styles didn’t get to call WM, and it just got to me now that he probably wont call Backlash. If not for the matches here, then for the announcing, listen at what he can bring. You can hear “Joey Styles” wanting to come out, you can hear that bit of him that made him such a popular announcer in ECW. If the “E” would just let him go and do his thing, he would feel much more comfortable and he would bring excitement that this company has been lacking for the exception of Edge. Hopefully if ECW does start back up, Styles will get to shine there like he’s meant to be. I’m kinda dreading to see JR hit the announcing booth once more at Raw on a permanent basis. It hasn’t been much fun for me as it is and nixing Styles would just make it worst. Sorry for the “HEAT” on this, put things need to change. Sadly, it doesn’t look like it. Anyway, for those of you who actually read this, lemme know what you think. Till we get extreme, PEACE.
