It takes a real support staff to console you after a break up. I think I’m still in shock. Y’know… denial. Thinking I’ll still have our usual Tuesday night date. Waiting for that toothsome grin to light up my drunk ass sittin’ on the couch. But, helas… there was no beanie. No double t-shirts. No “Marry Me” signs in the audience. And no falsetto. This was my first show without Ace… and I have to say, I did pretty well. Well… that was until David Foster asked Kellie if she can sing a falsetto…uh… I know someone who can…
Pauler’s stealing the show away from Simon. First, her comment to Ace about the scar and now the drunken Tammy Faye tears after Elliott’s performance. I was laughing so hard, then they cut to Simon… who was snickering so much he was jiggling like a Jell-O mold on a washing machine! Pauler, you cuttin’ onions over there? Watching “Terms of Endearment”?
There’s a lot of people out there who are comparing Taylor to George Clooney.
Taylor Hicks is to George Clooney what Randy Quaid is to Dennis Quaid.
Apparently Chris was supposed to sing “Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak and it didn’t get approved. THAT would have won him the competition right there. Chris singing “Wicked Game” is to Ace singing “Father Figure”. Hot guy singing incredibly sexy song brings another few guaranteed weeks of feminine fans. Wonder what happened? They couldn’t get Katharine to agree to run nekid on the beach during his song?
The judges not completely bashing Kellie’s performances for the past 2 weeks have been astounding. They going light on her cause she’s verbally challenged? I guess it doesn’t matter anymore. However, the apology to Kat… Where the hell did THAT come from? Since when does American Idol play “black, black no take back?” But what about the other judges? I do believe that Randy and Pauler need to give her props as well… ahem!
Kat – I Have Nothing
Girl gave me chills. Granted, she’s no Whitney, but she’s managed to sing some pretty strong songs and is still on the show. She’s a new fave of mine. And she’s really trying to reel in the raunch. She’s tackled naughty Xtina Aguilera and everybody’s favorite crack-ho Whitney. Love her!
Elliott – A Song For You
Unfortunately, the only thing memorable about the performance was the crying critique after he sang. I was a little shocked he did so well. He sounded so nervous when Ryan was interviewing him. Delivered a great performance. Don’t know if it moved me to tears. Then again that song wouldn’t move me to tears.
Kellie – Unchained Malady
I’ve always hated the movie “Ghost”. It was one of the stupidest movies of all time and Patrick Swayze! HA! So when I heard she was singing this song, it made me dislike the movie, the song and Pickles even more. After she sang the song… it all came together. I could only laugh at Pickles. Laugh her all the way home.
Paris – The Way We Were
Delivered with a little too much soul. She’s young. She’s talented. But Funny Girl, she is not. But she still gave me chills. Seriously needs to get some fans and git’em quick! “Never been in the bottom 2”. I like the sass. Maybe it’ll show some personality and get some fans!
Taylor – Just Once
Ok, so I’m doing the math on this one. Everyone be quiet. Seven minus two, equals bye Kellie… Ten minus three, equals bye Taylor. Ok. So I think I figured it out. If Taylor brings in one more bad performance, his fans will jump ship faster than Cubans on a tire raft.
Daughtry – When You Really Love a Woman
I thought I was at El Torito for a minute with the Mariachi band. Yes, I would like the guacamole and a large margarita…. rocks no salt. I guess for my entrée… can you get me one of those hot, bald, sentimental, rocker dudes? Delish. Oooh, and for desert, I’ll take his best friend… to go.
And then there were 5. Singing 2 songs each next week. From the year they were born (Taylor, that would be a Beatles song) and a song that’s in the top 10 this week. Did I get that right? I can’t wait to see who sings LL Cool J.
