Archive

– PWInsider.com reports that WWE has released developmental Tranisha from the Deep South Wrestling roster.

– WWE.com has announced WWE’s mobile launch.

– Also on WWE.com: footage of Rey Mysterio throwing the first pitch out at yesterday’s Reds game, photos of Black Eyed Peas backstage at RAW, and this cryptic announcement:

Where’s Coach?

With all the excitement involving the RAW announce booth and Styles quitting his job Monday night, did anybody notice that Jonathan Coachman was absent? Where was The Coach? Is he gone for good? Or will we see him back at the booth next Monday?

– Joey Styles’ bio is still on WWE.com’s Superstars page, even though he quit RAW on Monday. Gunner Scott’s has been added to Smackdown’s page.

– Finally, The Rock has come BACK to … WWE.com? In this interview with Michael Cole, Rocky talks about his film Southland Tales, which is up for the prestigious Palme d’or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival (it is one of 19 films competing, only three of which are from the U.S.). The film, which is a thriller directed and written by Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko), also stars Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, Justin Timberlake and Seann William Scott. Other upcoming films for The Rock are drama Gridiron Gang and Disney football movie Playbook. On Rey Mysterio as Champ, The Rock says: “I’m so proud of Rey. He’s a great ambassador for the business and the SmackDown brand. I’ve never seen an athlete able to adjust his style to fit whoever he’s working with in the ring.” And on a return? “Don’t think I’m ever going away for good. I’ll show up when you least expect it!”
