[WWE] Updates on PPV “Leak,” Joey Styles’ Replacement Named & Gunner Scott

Archive

– WWE.com has confirmed that JR will return to the RAW announce booth, replacing Joey Styles. The story includes a kayfabed explanation for the re-hiring:

In the wake of Joey Styles decision to quit World Wrestling Entertainment, Mr. McMahon has been forced to reluctantly give Jim Ross his old job back. Mr. Ross will handle the play-by-play duties on RAW on a probationary basis.” Mr. McMahon and his office declined further comment.

– WWE has hired Saul Steinberk, WXW’s TV host, as content editor for WWE.com, according to PWInsider.com. In other WWE.com news, they have posted a story on Gunner Scott here.

– WWE has purchased the rights to OVW video footage from owners Danny Davis and Jim Cornette. This may impact your OVW online orders.

– Paul Heyman again is not at the OVW TV tapings tonight in Louisville, but did write the show, which was left in Al Snow and Tommy Dreamer’s hands. This is likely due to Heyman’s ECW duties.

– The Viewers Choice Vengeance PPV description has been altered to remove all potential spoiler info, previously reported, although PWInsider.com is sticking by its story that the “leaked” plans are indeed scheduled to happen. It now reads “Don’t miss a minute of the live action as RAW presents WWE’s Vengeance, Sunday, June 25th at 8pm ET/5pm PT, live and only on Pay-Per-View. A World Wrestling Entertainment Production. Go to wwe.com for more details. See It All On Viewers Choice!” You can click here to see for yourself.
