[ECW] Comprehensive Talent List

Archive

PWInsider.com’s Dave Scherer is the first on the IWC to publish a comprehensive list of full-time talent, part-time talent, and others expected to be involved with the “new” ECW. This includes those already signed, those WWE has spoken with, and some that are already on the RAW, SD, OVW or DSW rosters that are expected to be a part of ECW’s future.

Bookers: Paul Heyman, Tommy Dreamer, possibly Smackdown’s Ed Koskey part time

Announcers: Joey Styles, TBD

Expected by everyone to be the top star: Rob Van Dam

Talent List:

The Sandman
Tommy Dreamer
Sabu
Al Snow
Axl Rotten
Balls Mahoney
Francine
Jazz
C. W. Anderson
Danny Doring
The FBI (expected to be Little Guido and Tony Mamaluke)

Part Time Talent (Individuals confirmed and rumored to make part time appearances for the brand):

Terry Funk
Masato Tanaka
Yoshihiro Tajiri
Mikey Whipwreck
Joel Gertner

Ring Announcer: Steven DeAngelis

The First Non-ECW Talent to get a big push: CM Punk

Possible Signings/Call ups:

Roadkill (In OVW)
Kid Kash (Possible Smackdown transfer)
Super Crazy (Possible Smackdown transfer)
Justin Credible (If the MTV group doesn’t renew his contract)
Lance Storm (Has said he will possibly work selected dates, but not full time)
Stevie Richards (Not being used much now)
Johnny Swinger (Would make sense)
Nova/Simon Dean (A possibility but also has a good role on Smackdown)

Additionally, TNA’s Rhino is only under contract with the rival promotion until this summer, so there’s always a chance that he or others may come in at some point. Among the ECW alumni currently involved with WWE but not mentioned by Scherer include Tazz, Steve Austin, Lita, Joey Mercury, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, Mick Foley, Psicosis and Rey Mysterio, although many of them will likely be involved in the ECW One Night Stand PPV, but not necessarily with the ECW brand after the event. We’ll have more on this as it develops.
