Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com has reported that Melina and Sharmell were involved in a backstage fight at last Saturday’s WWE house show in El Paso, Texas. Melina has huge backstage heat as many feel Batista has been cheating on his wife with her and Melina has been cheating on Johnny Nitro who she has been dating since they were both in OVW. Of course, this is purely rumor and speculation at this point. According to Johnson’s report, JBL was the one who pulled both women apart and played peace maker for the situation.
There has been speculation since the fight that Melina would be punished, which likely explains her “firing” at Judgment Day tonight following her loss to Hall and MNM’s loss of the tag titles to London & Kendrick. In fact, WrestlingObserver’s Dave Meltzer, on his radio show tonight, said that Vince McMahon had a meeting with Melina before the PPV, to tell her she was being suspended and therefore taken off of TV for a while.
Update: PWTorch’s James Caldwell, in his blog, described the situation as this: “Both have become aloof from the rest of the Smackdown locker room and WWE is taking a proactive measure getting them off Smackdown before more problems arise.” Take all of this for what it’s worth.
