Matt Striker was in Palmer Canon’s palatial office suite at the Deep South Arena. Striker who was at his ingratiating, ass kissing best, asked Canon how he was acclimating to his new position as the head honcho at DSW. “You know they say Rome wasn’t built in a day, but I have to say things in Deep South Wrestling are coming along quite swimmingly,” said Canon. Angel William was in Canon’s lap. Williams said Canon was making miracles happen. “Headway, head way,” said Canon. Canon said he was going to redecorate by trashing the ugly photos of Assassin’s kids. Freakin Deacon entered the room and started talking to his tarantula. Deacon licked Williams on the arm. Canon said that he was going reestablish himself as the “premier grappler” in DSW by starting at the top with the biggest, toughest guy — Antonio Mestre. Canon said it was going to be an uphill battle, but he was up to the challenge.

DeMott said Gordy was struggling both mentally and emotionally in the ring. Capone quashed a series of comeback attempts until Gordy hit his finisher out of nowhere. DeMott said Gordy’s first win in DSW might be a turning point.

A highlight video aired to introduce the new boss, Palmer Canon, “Network Executive.”

Siaki sat Steele on the top turnbuckle and climbed. Steele shoved Siaki off and hit a flying bodypress for the pin. Big pop. Sherrod said DSW was different than “other wrestling organizations” where Siaki had competed.

Tracy Taylor interviewed High Impact regarding the main event, a lumberjack match against Team Elite. Mike Taylor was stunned by the fact that Elite got what they asked for last week and ran away. Santarelli was amped about the lumberjack match. He might want to consider decaf. Taylor said Elite couldn’t run tonight.

Impact made their entrance to the usual monster pop.

Cut to Team Elite. Mike Knox said he was getting sick of this. He brought up how they put Taylor out of action for two months. Knox wondered how it felt to Taylor’s kids when daddy almost died. “We ran? Don’t mistake our kindness for weakness. What do you want me to do, kill you?” Neikirk said Elite were the best tag team in wrestling and Impact didn’t stand a chance.

The champion reversed the situation with a standing armbar. Taylor made a blind tag and Santarelli took over on Neikirk’s arm. Niekirk took Santarelli down by the hair. Santarelli nipped up and hit a spinning headscissors. Niekirk bailed but a lone babyface (Damien Steel) was there to toss him back inside. DeMott said Elite must have made a deal with the devil (Canon), alluding to the fact that the heel lumberjacks had the babyfaces badly outnumbered. Neikirk backed Santarelli into his corner. Knox tagged in and beat Santarelli down something fierce. When Nick Patrick intervened, Gymini pulled Santarelli out to continue the beating. Taylor waded in to save his partner. The heel lumberjacks applauded the Elite’s victory. Taylor signaled that Santarelli’s neck had been injured as the hour ended.

Comments: The opening segment in Canon’s office was funny stuff. Canon was showing potential as a wrestler. He’s got the size and physique and already well-developed character…Interesting to see an established talent like Siaki lose in his debut match. Siaki may be filling the role vacated by Kid Kash – the veteran heel that knows how to get heat and have good matches with inexperienced babyface performers…The Gordy/Capone match was taped on an earlier date. Capone now uses the name Francisco Ciatso…Gymini looked like the real deal. Their teamwork was seamless and the beatdown on Fantastic was intense… Jindrak is in phenomenal shape. He’s the first non-contract guy I’ve seen billed with a moniker, “The Mark of Excellence,” and his brief stint in the match was all offense…Deep South found another great opponent for Kahli in Jay. It was amazing to see a guy that’s 6-3 looked so small in comparison to Giant…Again this week, Elite vs. Impact was the best match and had, by far, the most heat. Santarelli took a helluva beating from Elite. The kids at the DSW Arena love their Impact. Good use of the lumberjacks to both add excitement to the match and weave Canon’s lust for power into the Elite/Impact storyline…The Six Flags show is the company’s first live event outside of the confines of the DSW Arena.
