[WWE] Two Former World Champs Hurt

Archive

– WWE.com has reported that Shawn Michaels will need knee surgery, although it is unknown at this time when that will be and how long he will be out. HBK had an MRI yesterday.

– PWInsider.com says that Chris Benoit will be out “for several months” due to a shoulder injury. This isn’t due to a particular moment that caused the injury, but rather long-term wear and tear. Both PWInsider.com and WrestlingObserver.com say that he won’t be out long (possibly two months) and that an angle is being planned to write the injury into storylines. He did not wrestle at last night’s Smackdown tapings, but is scheduled for next week’s. This will likely nix the rumored Benoit vs. Malenko match at ECW One Night Stand.

– RAW dropped from the 4.0 range to a 3.7 cable rating Monday night (5.4 share, hours of 3.5 and 3.8), according to PWInsider.com and Nielsen Media Research. The episode went up against the series finale of Alias, season finale of 24, and two NBA playoff game sevens, so all eyes will be on next week’s rating to see if this was an anamoly. AM RAW did a 1.1 (4.9 share) in the Sunday 2am slot.
