[WWE] ECW, Smackdown Injuries, Randy’s Return & More

– In today’s Hollywood Reporter, USA Network President Bonnie Hammer says “Close to 50 percent who watch ‘Raw’ watch Sci Fi as well” and that ECW will fit the Sci Fi network’s “stretching the imagination” theme: “It will have a nice little twist that will fit the brand.”

– In other ECW news, WWE has added a December 3 PPV, which will likely be a second ECW PPV. Also, WrestlingObserver.com says that the decision still hasn’t been made as to whether or not ECW will air live or on a one- to three-hour delay. The slot was supposedly moved from 9 to 10 as a last-minute decision by Sci Fi.

– PWTorch.com reports that Smackdown’s final broadcast rating was a 1.9. This past RAW drew a 3.6 cable rating, as opposed to the 3.7 reported elsewhere.

– Chris Benoit and JBL are both taking time off, says PWTorch.com. Shawn Michaels may also not wrestle for a few weeks, until the Vengeance PPV.

– With so many stars out on Smackdown, it shouldn’t be surprising that the Torch also says Randy Orton is scheduled to return immediately at the conclusion of his 60 day suspension, on June 13.
