[SD] Updates on MNM, Khali

Archive

– The long term plan for MNM was to eventually build to Nitro and Melina as a singles package, but not for at least another year or so. Melina’s backstage heat, coupled with Mercury’s time off for rehab, saw this greatly sped up.

– It remains to be seen what happens with Mercury. Whilst he is seen as being less charismatic than Nitro, he was the one that layed out MNM’s matches and was seen as the brains of the outfit. Ironically, he was actually a last-minute addition to the team in the first place after Nitro’s original partner, Chris Cage, suffered a torn pec prior to being called up. Cage, who was then moved into a storyline with Mike The Miz, where vignettes were even taped, has since been released due in part to partying too hard.

– Vince McMahon is said to be determined to push The Great Khali as a genuine monster because he regrets not booking The Big Show in a similar, Andre-like way when he first came to the company in 1999. Incidentally, when Khali recently called The Undertaker a “Madar Choud” during a promo, the censors failed to realise that the phrase means “motherf*cker” in Hindu.
