[ECW/WWE/WCW] First Big 3 Champion Crowned

Archive

On a historic ECW Tuesday Night program, Big Show became the first man to have held the WCW World title, the WWE world title, and now the ECW world title. While this accomplishment is tainted as ECW is currently owned by Vince McMahon, it is still noteworthy.

There are other wrestlers who held singles titles representing three major companies out of WWE, WCW, ECW and TNA. Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, Rhino and Jeff Jarrett come to mind as champions who have held belts in three different companies which were or are in competition with one another. Raven is the only wrestler to have held titles in all four companies when they were separate. However, The Big Show is the first man to have held the most important title of three of the four major brands.

Oddly enough, the only other wrestler in position to duplicate or in fact surpass this feat is Kevin Nash. A TNA heavyweight championship will give him a pure trifecta. Booker T needs both a WWE world title win and an ECW world title win, Ric Flair needs an ECW world title win, and Matt Hardy… well, that ship has sailed.

Congratulations to The Big Show from all of us at Insidepulse. May your chokeslams and ragdoll throws continue to make us proud.
