Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat – (Episode 8)

Cue the music..cue the entrances..cue the video game effects with each team being shown together as it gets loaded onto your TV or computer screen. The “alumni” are dressed in black, while the “fresh meat” are dressed in red. Oh..and it’s TJ Lavin as the host playing this “video game”…

We start with a change. Everyone is playing volleyball in the pool! Tina and Kenny talk about being near the bottom of the list for teams. They know they could be going into the exile next. They know they need to step it up. But they won’t kiss anyone’s butts while they are here to not get sent into exile. It won’t work anyways.

Coral tells Evan that they need to win again. They have not won in the last two challenges. They need to get back to that #1 spot, so they won’t blend in with the other teams. One problem, though. Evan has a sports hernia and Coral doesn’t know about it. The pain gets worse for him everyday, so it could force him to quit the challenge.

The teams get a clue for the next challenge. “Want a piece of me? MEAT me in The Gold Coast for tomorrow’s challenge.” Shane jokes that he wants a piece of Kenny’s meat! That was wrong!

Casey says that Wes thinks they won’t go into exile this time. But he always says that and they’ve always gone before. Somehow this leads to Wes and Evan wrestling around the house. Katie wants to join in on the action now. Eric is glad that she is his partner. Wes jumps into the pool with Katie. Eric helps her out. Katie knows that they need to do good, because they have been sucking lately.

TJ now explains the rules of this challenge to the teams. It is called “Swimming With Sharks”. Coral sees the sharks and she thinks this is the dumbest thing ever. She thinks about not even doing this challenge. Diem can’t believe this. She’s scared as we get a look at a few of the sharks before going to a break!!

Commercial time!

TJ finishes explaining the rules to us. There are puzzle pieces at the bottom of this bay, where sharks are swimming around. Once they get the pieces, they have to assemble the puzzle in the frame. The teams will do this relay-style. The puzzle has to be done in 10 minutes or less. Coral has a question, though. What about the freakin’ sharks?!?! TJ tells them to swim fast! HA! Shane and Linette decide on the order for the teams.

Wes and Casey are going first. Wes is a good swimmer apparently, but he doesn’t like the sharks. They jump in and the sharks are angry. Wes freaks out when he sees a shark, but they go in a grab the pieces of the puzzle. However, they can’t get all the pieces before the time limit. They are eliminated. Wes doesn’t think any team can beat the time limit.

Shane and Linette are next. Shane says he should have been a fish. They move along quite well. Wes looks worried. They are down to three minutes. TJ tells them to hurry. They have all the pieces and they assemble the puzzle! They also believe no one else will complete this.

Tina and Kenny are up. Kenny hopes that if anyone gets bitten, it’s Tina! That’s the spirit Kenny. Tina tries to direct Kenny to the puzzle pieces. But Kenny can’t swim. He can’t go under the water. Tina wants him to be bit by a shark now. They are eliminated as the time expires. Tina says they are going to exile.

Derrick and Diem are next. Diem says it’s pretty under the water, but terrifying at the same time. They don’t make the time limit either. They are out.

Darrell and Aviv go next. They do better and complete the puzzle in time.

Katie and Eric are up. Katie doesn’t like sharks. Eric doesn’t want Katie to quit, but she seems set on quitting. Katie says she doesn’t want to continue. Eric is mad. Katie doesn’t care.

Theo and Chanda go now. They do a lot better as you might expect. They complete the puzzle in time. Chanda says this challenge is exhausting. Theo doesn’t think anyone can beat this challenge.

Coral and Evan are the last team to go! Coral likes water. She has a “water-like” name..you see. Other teams watch from underneath the water in this viewing tank as Coral struggles a little bit. They do their best, but Coral is having trouble breathing. They are probably done, but we have to take our final break first!

Commercial time!

Coral doesn’t quit. She continues at a slower pace. Evan says he is hurting, but he continues. They have one minute left. And they are done! They are out! Coral thinks that they could be going into exile, since they are not #1

TJ now comes in to tell us the results:

#8 – Wes and Casey – DQ
#8 – Tina and Kenny – DQ
#8 – Derrick and Diem – DQ
#8 – Katie and Eric – DQ
#8 – Coral and Evan – DQ
#3 – Darrell and Aviv – 9:22
#2 – Theo and Chanda – 8:47

#1 and WINNERS ONCE AGAIN – Shane and Linette – 7:37

They have won two in a row now! A little surprising, but they won. They have to decide. And they just go with the weakest team in their opinion. It’s Katie and Eric going into exile! They don’t go with Wes and Casey as expected. Eric doesn’t hate Shane and Linette. It could have been expected. They got a DQ.

Now it’s time for the Exile Deliberation! Aviv says that the majority want to put Tina and Kenny into exile. Aviv actually likes their company, so there is something wrong with her. No one really talks to each other during this thing, which is interesting.

Time for the votes! Wes and Casey vote for Tina and Kenny, just because if not them..then he gets put back into exile. Derrick and Diem vote the same way. Theo and Chanda vote the same way. Tina goes for Wes and Casey. Kenny changes his vote at the last second. He votes for them. That pisses Tina off! Kenny says they were going anyways, so it didn’t matter. Coral and Evan and Darrell and Aviv finish us off and Tina and Kenny are going into exile! Tina says that they are partners they have to be a team. Kenny says that he doesn’t trust any other team.

TJ brings in Katie and Eric and tells them about what happened. Tina is still upset. Eric laughs at it, though. Wes and Casey are happy that they are not going into exile. They have a day off. But Wes is scared that one of those teams could win the next challenge and get a pardon. That means Wes and Casey are probably going back into exile.

Tina tries to talk to Kenny now. She wants an equal partnership. Tina says that he didn’t have to vote like everyone else. Kenny says it wouldn’t have mattered anyways. Tina says that she can’t trust Kenny. Kenny says he knows what he is doing, though. Tina finishes by saying that Kenny is crazy!

And we are out until next week!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
