Looking Ahead – 25th July 2006

Hi there people, good to see you. Once again, it’s a red hot Summers day here in England, I’ve been up since the crack of dawn at work, I’ve been home half an hour and I’m both mentally and physically exhausted. (Just done 45 hours in 4 days). So here we go, no fluff just buff.

Have A Gander…

Links robbed from Eric. Shhhhhhh.

Lucard discusses undead magic-users and dead ducks. Shit. Just remembered I was supposed to post the latest YCBS yesterday. Bollocks. Ah well… won’t have to remember to do that soon with all the changes and whatnot coming. Changes? SHIT. Sssssssh…..

Vin-Man also wants the best for Lethal, and that’s good.

Daniels

Floyd Landis is a terrific story, Goober. Don’t blow him off like that.

Gloomie‘s problem is simply solved: don’t play any music at all.

Cameron does a little navel-gazing.

Paul contemplates YouTube’s licensing terms.

Basilo should try running some anti-spyware programs on his system.

Hatton and Stevens are both gearing up for San Diego.

Cheers Eric. X.

RAW & SmackDown! (& Probably ECW)

Next PPV – SummerSlam; 20/08/06

The Announced Card

Randy Orton vs. Hulk Hogan

Yeah… No WAY Orton’s going over here. However this could be the feud that puts Orton on the map for a few years to come, barring injury or wellness-related issues. Speaking of the Wellness Program, I’ll reiterate from the Roundtable for the Bash. The Wellness Program will be the death of the WWE.

Speculation…

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero

So, we’ve finally got the Chavo turn. I loved it. Costing Rey the title was the most heelish thing he could have done, and add that to the snarling faces Chavo pulled afterwards, he’s gonna get some great crowd reactions if he delivers on the promo side of things and fully explains why he did what he did.

Batista vs. King Booker

Well, the awesomeness that is King Booker is the NEW WORLD CHAMP BABY! Now he can have a scuffle with Big Dave at SummerSlam. It should be pretty impressive, all things considered. Both guys are decent in the ring, and Booker knows how to put his opponent over without making himself look shit in the process. Booker to retain here though. There’s no need what-so-ever to take the belt of him yet.

The Undertaker vs. The Great Khali

Well apparently the old Undertaker is back on form now, thanks to his win in the Punjabi Prison match. Joy. If Khali doesn’t have Heppatitus C, then we’ll get this match, hopefully in another gimmicky type match (to hide the fact that Khali sucks and Taker can’t be arsed to carry Khali).

William Regal vs. Finlay

With Lashley out and Finlay rumored to be turning face to counter that, who better to turn on than his “Kings Court” partner, William Regal? They could have another great match like they did at the Bash, maybe with Regal winning the US title to further the feud another few months while Smackdown gets half it’s roster back.

DX vs. The McMahons & The Spirit Squad

I think it might be entertaining to see a gauntlet style match involving 4 members of the Spirit Squad and both Shane and Vince McMahon against DX. Obviously both teams from the Squad are eliminated first, so we get to see The McMahon’s vs. DX for a while before The McMahon’s get the win. The Spirit Squad can then “injure” HBK, which gives him a good excuse to rest for a couple of months like he was originally supposed to do a while back.

John Cena vs. Edge vs. Umaga for the WWE Championship

I’m still going for a triple threat match, just to get Umaga involved on the card. He’s taken out both Cena and HBK in the past few weeks, so a main event push, whether we like it or not, looks to be coming our way.

Johnny Nitro & Melina vs. Carlito & Trish

I’m Still going with this match, because it just seems to connect together, like pieces in a jigsaw.

Big Show vs. RVD – ECW World Title Match

If RVD’s back by then, then we’ll have this on the card. Nothing much else to say really.

Mick Foley vs. Ric Flair

Foley is on a f*cking roll with his recent interviews, especially last night’s one on Raw. But we all know the match is gonna happen at SummerSlam, so why leave the fans in wonder and just tell us. Grrr.. damn slow build. :-)

RAW

Next PPV – Unforgiven; 17/9/06

The Announced Card

N/A

Speculation…

Way to early to start thinking about this PPV, but here’s a list of matches my brain keeps telling me we’ll end up seeing:

Edge (c) vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship – probably a rematch from SummerSlam

Vince McMahon vs. HHH – Possibly to further the feud, or just to give HHH something to do

Johnny Nitro vs. Ric Flair – Nitro’s been getting in Flairs business recently, so a match between the two would be a good idea to elevate Nitro

The Spirit Squad Team 1 vs. The Spirit Squad Team 2 – We’ll have the split by then, trust me

The Last Bit…

www.myspace.com/brittblack – play the She Sells Sanctuary cover. Awesome.

A pretty short column this week, which is due to me again working my arse off. 60 hours a week, no days off. This is what comes of having no staff. Damn the people I work for.

Anyway, I’m going to jump in a cold shower, then I’m going to collapse in my bed.

Stay cold…

Danny Wallace.
