ECW tickets for next Tuesday’s (August 1) show at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC are still on sale. The show will feature the in-ring ECW debut of CM Punk and the return of Kurt Angle, as well as Smackdown’s Batista challenging Big Show for the ECW belt. The “storm trooper-like” security guys last night were Doug Basham & Danny “Basham” (Damaja from OVW) Hollie, according to WrestlingObserver.com.
PWTorch is reporting that ECW drew a 2.4 rating, with an average audience of 2.9 million and a 1.9 rating for M18-49/1.6 for M18-34. PWInsider says that quarter-hour ratings were 2.2, 2.2, 2.3, 2.5 and a 3.0 overrun (the highest quarter since the ECW re-launch) and that WWE is confident about the show’s chances of being picked up after the summer run.
