Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat – (Episode 10)

Cue the music..cue the entrances..cue the video game effects with each team being shown together as it gets loaded onto your TV or computer screen. The “alumni” are dressed in black, while the “fresh meat” are dressed in red. Oh..and it’s TJ Lavin as the host playing this “video game”…

Evan comes back from the hospital. He says he could cause permanent damage to himself if he continues. He is almost to the point of vomiting from the pain. But he chooses to ignore it now to continue. He lies about his injury to everyone else, though. He says he was just at the hospital for Coral. Her knee is busted up. Derrick has heard rumors of Evan being injured, though. Coral now comes back from the hospital and she is on crutches. She can’t feel her knee. Aviv worries about both Coral and Evan on the next challenges. Coral plays down her injury as well. They are going to “tough it out”.

The teams get a clue for the next challenge. “Yo ho..yo ho..up and down you go!” They think it has to do something with bungee jumping. Wes says everyone doesn’t know how injured Coral and Evan are, since they won’t tell them so they won’t look like a weak team and get thrown into exile.

Diem has gotten close with Linette and Aviv. They have become friends. But the game is getting personal and Aviv doesn’t like the way it’s being played. She doesn’t want to lie to everyone. But it is about surviving until the end.

Evan says that the doctor said he couldn’t do any heavy lifting. But he insists that he will do whatever to stay in the game. However, TJ has other news to tell them. Everyone is prepared to compete in the challenge. TJ says that Coral and Evan are out of the game for good! The doctors won’t let them compete. Their injuries are too great. And everyone is in shock as we take out first break!

Commercial time!

We come back and Coral can’t believe it! She has never been voted off on any challenge yet and she doesn’t want to leave now. They try to talk to one of the executive producers to see if they can compete. Evan says that his doctor said he could. Coral says they are the #1 team here, which is true. The producer says they didn’t want this to happen, but there is nothing they can do to change the outcome.

Evan and Coral are upset. Evan says his injury is serious, because he could die from it if it gets bad enough. But he is more likely to win the final grand prize with Coral than die. Tina talks to Coral. She is happy that they are gone as it opens up the doors for every other team. Coral says what I’ve been saying all along. Now it opens up a spot for another team in the “Final Four”. Everyone says goodbye to Coral and Evan.

Time to move on and TJ tells us an VERY important change now. There will still be the same amount of challenges and exiles. That means that the finals will NOT be a “Final Four”. There will just be three teams competing in the finals. So there you go..that just made the game A LOT less interesting right there. You know the “Final Three” right now. And I really don’t see that changing. $250,000 goes to first place, $30,000 for second place, and $25,000 for third place now. Diem says it’s important to get to the finals to win that money!

TJ now explains the rules of this challenge to the teams. It is called “Batten Down The Hatches”. They will use a 22 ft. dive boat that is hoisted 25 ft. in the air. There are two rope ladders hanging off each side of the boat. Each member of the team will be on opposite ladders. They will attempt to climb out of the boat and down the ladders to the bottom. They then have to swing to each other and trade ladders. They have to climb back up the ladders and make it back in the boat. Fastest time wins!

Darrell and Aviv pick the order of the teams. They will be going last, and first up is Wes and Casey. Casey knows there is a chance they could go into exile, so she will do her best or vomit in the process. Casey struggles to climb down the ladder to begin with. They make it down and here is the hard part. The team members are about 10 feet apart. They can’t do it. Wes decides to quit and they are out!

Tina and Kenny are next and yep..they are on the “chopping block” says Tina. They make it to the end of the ladder and Tina loses complete control of her body trying to swing the ladder. The weirdest looking thing ever. But it works somehow. They make to the other ladders and climb back up to complete it.

Theo and Chanda are next. Theo says that Coral and Evan were their allies, and now anyone could go into exile. They go fast as usual and they have little problems completing this challenge.

Tina and Wes try to scheme together and go after two powerful teams. They know who the “top three” are and they want to team up to take them out, because if they don’t..it will be them in exile.

Derrick and Diem are up. Derrick knows they haven’t done that great in challenges. He hopes for a better outcome here. They make it down and up into the boat with limited problems. Diem doesn’t know how well they did, but she’s excited anyways.

Shane and Linette are next. They complete it as well.

Darrell and Aviv are the last team to go. Darrell says the ladders are not stable at all as the wind blows. And Darrell takes a nasty fall climbing back up the ladder. Everyone is shocked at that!

TJ now comes in to tell us the results:

#6 – Wes and Casey – DQ
#5 – Darrell and Aviv – DQ
#4 – Tina and Kenny – 9:10
#3 – Shane and Linette – 5:23
#2 – Theo and Chanda – 4:04

#1 and WINNERS – Derrick and Diem – 3:47

Diem goes nuts and is extremely excited about winning! But TJ reminds her that they have to pick someone to go into exile now. They don’t look forward to this at all. Time for our last break!

Commercial time!

We are back and Derrick and Diem talk. Derrick says that Darrell is his friend. He wants to keep Wes and Tina around, since they suck and they can beat them in the end. He doesn’t want to go after Theo. So he thinks it’s Shane and Linette. Diem doesn’t like this, since she is friends with Linette. Derrick says it’s the smart thing to do. Diem doesn’t like it at all, but they pick Shane and Linette. Linette seems angry by this. However, they can easily win the next challenge and get a pardon.

Linette tells Aviv that she didn’t deserve to be put into exile. Aviv says it was a crappy thing that Diem did. Linette is hurt by Diem. And they just don’t get it. Tina tells Diem that it’s okay. This is a game and it’s not personal, so don’t make it personal. Casey says that Derrick and Diem just “flipped the table” right there with that move. Wes and Casey and Tina and Kenny will be going after either Theo and Chanda or Darrell and Aviv in the vote tonight. Darrell says that he is not dumb. He knows what Wes is trying to do and he will attempt to send Wes into exile.

Now it’s time for the Exile Deliberation! It’s a quick one. Everyone has their votes. Darrell starts the vote with Wes and Casey. Simply because Wes was scheming against them. Wes and Casey decide to switch their votes to Tina and Kenny to make it seem like they weren’t trying to pull anything. Tina and Kenny return the favor and votes Wes and Casey. Tina says she couldn’t go with the original plan, since Wes talked a lot of talk! Theo and and Chanda go with Wes and Casey as well. So that’s that! Wes and Casey are going back into exile.

Theo doesn’t like that Linette is going into exile, since he likes her and all of that. Shane says that there is no way (which really means a GREAT chance) that they will lose to Wes and Casey in exile, since they suck. Wes says he is not scared at all “going against a gay guy and a skinny girl”.

Diem and Casey talk and Casey agrees with Diem. She likes that the “power” teams are arguing, since it could open the door for a weaker team to win. Linette and Aviv talk as well. They insist that they wouldn’t have done the same thing that Diem did. They don’t want the money it seems. Then..why get on the show in the first place! Linette says she is not ready to go home and she will win the next challenge to stay in the game!

And we are out until next week!

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
