Winner: Kristal Marshall

Not to the level of the recent Diva’s Matches on SmackDown, but still not that bad. Two out of Ten.

Layla gets an interview and gets pie faced. She rubs it over her body; ugh, reminds me of why I hate Kristal. Remember that blue paint thing she did? Damn that was lame.

Still to come: Batista vs Mr Kennedy, and King Booker vs The Undertaker!

Here we go again, let’s see if these two can have another good match together .. remember that? Last week? That was odd. Oh god, my first Brooklyn Brawler match! I feel so giddy! Lock up and the two go to the corner, with Brawler being told to back off by the referee. Vito gets in some strong punches, clothesline, and a axe handle drop. Sleeper lock applied on Brawler, Brawler escapes it by racking Vito’s eyes. Brawler then rakes Vito’s eyes on the ropes and the two exchange punches, Vito gets the upper hand and sends Brawler into the ropes with a clothesline. Vito off the ropes and comes back with the Forget About It! Panty Stain wins it. Yes, I maintain calling it the Panty Stain, as horrible of a name as it is.
Winner: Vito

Believe it or not, I havn’t seen many Brooklyn Brawler matches. But this, as it was, was crap even as far as squashes go. -Five out of Ten.

JT, wearing a bra and all, simply stares into the camera and doesn’t speak before she gets pie faced. HA! That was funny because she screwed up!

Mike The Mizanin hypes up the Diva Search Elimination on RAW. Eliminate Erica; JT should stay because her just staring at the camera before realizing she should speak was priceless.

Backstage, Theodore Long (in a sexy office) meets up some guy called Montel Von something, yeah, that MVP guy. MVP’s agent rings up and he puts Long on the phone, Long is shocked about how much money his agent is requesting.

Up next: Chavo Guerrero ‘On The Record’.

Commercials.

Scotty Too Hotty and Funaki are in the ring, not Chavo Guererro’s ‘On The Record’. Michelle McCool introduces their opponents KC James (blonde) and Idol Stevens (not blonde).

Seventh Contest: Scotty Too Hotty and Funaki vs KC James and Idol Stevens with Michelle McCool

Stevens gets some elbows to Hotty, and distracts the referee – which Funaki then follows through with – long enough for James to rake at the face of Hotty for a fair while. Hotty tries to get to his corner, but Stevens grabs the ankle of Hotty, enziguri misses and Stevens gets an elbow drop for two, to which Cole states “No! Kick out at three”. Heh. Sleeper hold locked on by Stevens, with James helping with leverage while the referee is distracted. Hotty tries to escape but Stevens clubs him down. Stevens runs at Funaki but Funaki punches Stevens in the gut and gets a bulldog for a one count, getting up to exchange punches with James! Hotty comes back with a running forearm to James, sending him into the corner. The referee tells Hotty to get out of the ring, allowing Stevens to flip Funaki into a Missile Dropkick by James! One, Two, Three!
Winners: Idol Stevens and KC James

That flip into Missile Dropkick should get them noticed quickly. This match suffered a lot due to a dead crowd. Seven matches in and they’re not even half way through a super show, I can understand where they’re coming from too. If only the audience had been much more involved in this match then it would have been a lot better than it was. Three out of Ten.

Backstage, Queen Sharmell asks why Booker is depressed. Booker says he is contemplating his contest against the Undertaker, before Sharmell reminds him that the Undertaker isn’t royalty, nor the World Heavy Weight Championship. Sharmell asks what the Undertaker will be saying after their match tonight and Booker starts with the ‘All Hail King Booker’ chant.

Up next, hopefully, is Chavo Guerrero ‘On The Record’! Still to come: King Booker vs The Undertaker!

Commercials.

Chavo Guerrero finally makes his way out. Guerrero gets on the microphone and says that people want to know why he screwed Rey Mysterio, why he betrayed Rey Mysterio. But first Guerrero asks what Betrayal is. Is it stealing his name, his blood, because that’s what Mysterio did to Chavo and his family. Chavo Guerrero calls Mysterio a thief, before he announces what Rey stole from him. Chavo grew up with Eddie and they used to lie, cheat, and steal together. When Eddie passed away everyone felt it and Chavo Guerrero retired, he walked away from wrestling, but Mysterio didn’t. And he used the Guerrero name, the Eddie name, and he always dedicated his matches to the memory of Eddie. Royal Rumble, No Way Out, and WrestleMania.

Guerrero says that he couldn’t stand on his own and instead used another Guerrero; Chavo. Guerrero reminds Mysterio how often he saved Mysterio from losing the title, but Mysterio decided to take all the glory and use Eddie’s credit. At the Great American Bash, Guerrero couldn’t take it anymore, and that’s when he realized that Mysterio didn’t steal Eddie from Chavo, the Guerrero family, but from all of the fans as well. Guerrero did what he did because Mysterio is a leech to the blood of the Guerrero family name. Mysterio runs down and a fight ensues and the fight spills outside, with Mysterio sending Chavo into the ring steps, before Vicky runs out and holds the two apart! .. She looks like she’s gained a bit of weight too. “Eddie” chant obviously starts up as Vicky keeps the two seperate.

Taker sets Booker up on the apron and nails an elbow to the arm of Booker. Back in the corner Taker goes for Old School, but Booker nails an arm drag! Booker runs at Taker but gets taken down by a big boot for a two count. Taker sends Booker’s left shoulder into the top turnbuckle, in a nice idea, before he goes for the Old School and this time nails it.

Winner by DQ: The Undertaker

Khali poses over Taker, but Taker steps up and goes to school on Khali with punches, before he clotheslines Khali over the top rope! Taker gets on the microphone and challenges Khali to a Last Man Standing Match at SummerSlam! I’ll be honest; this match could have been a lot slower. Remember their match at No Mercy five years ago, or their match at Judgment Day two years ago? I’m always very negative when it comes to matches between these two and this time I was surprised at the fact that I liked this match. Five out of Ten.

So, tonight’s results stands at;

William Regal vs Finlay: 7/10
Elijah Burke vs Scott Wright: -1/10
Ashley Massaro vs Kristal Marshall: 2/10
Tatanka vs Sylvan: 6/10
Batista vs Mr Kennedy: 8/10
Vito vs Brooklyn Brawler: -5/10
KC James and Idol Stevens vs Scotty Too Hotty and Funaki: 3/10
King Booker vs The Undertaker: 5/10
SmackDown 04/08/06: 25/80

Eight matches on SmackDown. And this was a lot easier to write than the usual shows too. You really can’t go wrong with most of the stuff on tonight’s show, every single match had a good reason to be there. We’ve got Finlay/Regal, Tatanka/Sylvan, Batista/Kennedy which were all good for SmackDown standards, we’ve got Elijah Burke and KC James/Idol Stevens making their wrestling debut, a bit of playful fun in having Brooklyn Brawler in there, continuing the feud between the divas, and even a big main event. And even the diva search stuff only went for a good two minutes total, even if Mizanin did make it sound like a really bad infomercial tonight it was all worth it to see JT staring blankly at the camera and making an idiot out of herself. My one problem: didn’t we see the Diva Search girls vs Cream Pies before?

While not a great SmackDown, it’s finally as though they realized that they need to be VERY careful with their timing since they don’t have Velocity anymore, in which they could have included a lot of tonight’s matches on. Until next week, Ciao Y’all.
